They've DEFINITELY got the Third Parties on board too. If they launch with a big lineup (20+ games), they won't be able to stock shelves fast enough.

Yeah was kinda shocked to see From Software and EA there, can only hope seeing them and Activision will mean the Switch gets the comparable games that PS4 and Xbone do.

And what will Atlus bring to the table?
-#FE port, or the rumoured sequel?
-The next mainline SMT game (SMT5), as there might not be another Ninty Portable after this so its the natural progression point.
    -Persona 5?

These launch lists of developers can end up being quite misleading so won't take too much notice of that as of yet. But hey Skyrim is a pretty good surprise and start.

There's a chance for Nintendo here. Plenty have held off on PS4/XB1 so far and wouldn't mind holding off again if it's powerful enough and has the support from developers.

Why is this not up on Amazon for pre-order already???? Goddamn it's been over 30 minutes since the reveal

    New Trauma Centre game? :D

It's like a fan made concept video from 2005.

"They'll never be able to make that work properly"

    Looks great. I want one.

It's not going to be a powerhouse, size-wise we should be able to determine that already, but if we get a seamless experience of moving from console to handheld and it plays games, I'm happy!

    New toys!!

I would take a EU port of Trauma Team, I still get pissed we never got it as people hail it as one of the high points of the series

MODS, Any chance we can split the thread between speculation and reveal? It would be nice to have all the details on the first page or maybe wait until we have the full list of specs?

Do we think the handheld does the processing or its streamed over like the Vita cross play.

And does this spell the end of the DS line?

I also found it interesting that no kids playing it were shown in the trailer at all, and even the Mario footage was very brief. The 3 minutes was definitely aimed towards a more mature audience.

Where is the evidence of this? Unless I missed it.
No mention of the system specs either. I can't imagine it's very powerful given that it's essentially a mobile piece of hardware.
Must be the only one who thinks meh so far

For me though, a lot the applications would be more suited for children. Using the side controllers to play 2 player and sticking the screen on the back of the head rests.

Does anyone else think one of the reasons they've revealed this right now just before the Red Dead 2 video and details is because it's going to be on the Switch and they didn't want Rockstar getting the jump on them?

Check a few pages ago on this thread, you'll find an extremely comprehensive list of 3rd party developers.

Delighted to see EA back on board with Nintendo.

The good news is that you can order Nintendo Switch on Amazon!

Assuming you have issues with your left or right shoulder button on your DS Lite. Am I in the right thread?

Spoken like someone that's never enjoyed local multiplayer. Obviously it wouldn't suit for all games, like where you'd need dual analogue, but there are other controllers for that.

I'm not editing a double post because there's no delete button on mobile. I'm...uh....predicting we'll get confirmation of touch screen functionality from a trusted insider shortly. HEED MY WORDS!

Yes, I never once in my entire life enjoyed local multiplayer…

At my age and with hands like shovels, trying to play multiplayer on a control smaller than the size of a credit card and looking at a 7" screen would not be my idea of fun. at all.

The point thought was that it was aimed towards the mature audience, presentations, videos etc in the past have been quite the opposite quite a lot of the time. We'll see how the actual use of the hardware works out.

Not all about the power and graphics, wouldn't full gameplay on the go mean more to you than Links ass being a little shinier

The console seems better than I expected.
The lineup was definitely aimed at existing PS4/XB1 owners.
Until we get a look at game performance we won't be properly able to judge, particularly where multiplatform titles are concerned.
The list of 3rd parties is simply beyond promising.
It seems that, in one go, they have bottled what is best about home gaming and on the go too.

I have a suspicion that people like me with a physical library of WiiU titles is going to out of luck when it comes to backwards compatibility, and only those downloaded from the eShop will be available.

And, if you can't see what's great about that Nintendo Switch teaser, then you probably haven't watched it properly, as there is more innovation in that short film than the PS4 and XB1 combined.

    https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2016/10/20/nintendo-switch/

It's a custom NVIDIA Tegra processor, so should be plenty capable.

Doesn't need to be a powerhouse but without developer support and decent (3 years ago) power it'll be a failure.

Just realised that there was no indication if the screen is a touch-screen or not.

It does the processing alright, it might be a case that it downclocks when on the go (with the lower resolution) and cycles up again when docked connected to the TV, with a power supply available. Still all speculation at this stage
