I've considered occupations, family etc and can't think of anything, so far, linking them. But I'll keep thinking even if it has started to hurt.

You're kinda parallel to the right track.

No. By politicos I meant politicians.

Maybe I should reword it as: "What links the following politicians?"

Clue It has to do with a relative in each case.

Sorry, I never even saw 'politicos', if I had, I would not have posted my stoopid post! :( My eyes might have seen it, but my mind wasn't looking! I really shouldn't be here.

Asquith has a famous actress granddaughter Helena Bonham Carter and Peres was a cousin of Lauren Bacall, so actor relatives?

    Correct:
    1. Catherine Spaak, niece.
    2. Mae Cluskey, sister (Tolka Row.)
    3. Janet Suzman, niece.
    4. Olimpia Dukakis, sister.
    5. Lauren Bacall, cousin.
    6. Helena Bonham-Carter, greatgranddaughter.

One could also include Abraham Lincoln, whose mother Nancy Hanks is a fourth cousin three times removed of Tom Hanks, and also related to Bill Cosby's wife and George and Rosemary Clooney who in turn were related to Thomas Cloney, 1798 rebel leader in Wexford, who innturn was related to Sean Cloney of Fethard-on-Sea fame.

I'm afraid I don't even know the others, as actors, even when you name them. Glad I knew the two I did.

I'm chuckling to myself here because I started reading "French ancestry" and thought it was going somewhere else... anyway I'll explain my giggles when it's answered.

    So, no.

I've just seen your post. Yes, potatoes.

Correct. They're all in Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris along with Wilde, Piaf and many other familiar individuals.

Name the two patron saints of Paris.

    Joan and Denis?

    Joan and Denis?

No. That's not the correct pair.

Genevieve and Denis. I knew Genevieve but not that there was two so I'm stealing Denis from Sramene on the off chance they were half right.

Vacuum Cleaner, as the others are invented by women.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,210 ✭✭✭bonzodog2

Syringe, others are 20th C inventions

    Great. :(
Now I have to think of a question. Why are answers easier than question? Rhetorical, don't answer.

Quick one off the top of my head.... What did the British monarchs James I, George IV and Victoria have in common?

Vacuum cleaner. The others are used by both men and women.

    Anybody?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,807 ✭✭✭✭Orion

Got me stumped. Different houses, different ages, different lengths of reign.

    I haven't a clue but I'll chance a wild guess.
English was not the first language of any of them:
James = Scots. Victoria and George = German (???)
