I'm hearing a lot of bad stuff about Dropbox lately. That it hacks OS X security. That it negatively affects performance and filesystem activity, even for non-Dropbox related tasks. The latest version also adds an ugly toolbar to the Finder.

I've been having occasional sleep wake failure problems on my MBA and when googling the problem Dropbox gets mentioned a lot. It's also usually the last thing in my logs prior to the failure.

Anyone else been having problems with Dropbox?

I love Dropbox and use it a lot. Never had issues and never noticed any performance issues.

I'm running a late 2011 MBP.
