right i just downloaded this program but it has annoying fade when i switch mp3 file how can i turn this off it's driving me nuts!

its called crossfade, you should be able to disable it in the
preferences somewhere, or at least set the fade to zero or
something... soz i can't help more, using v3, which uses F to
toggle the crossfade. worth a try i suppose.

have a look through the keyboard shortcuts to see if it's there.

Winamp Preferences / Plug-ins / Output

Select DirectSound Output v2.2.5 [outds_dll]

Click configure.

Click 'Fading' tab.

Click each of the 'On....' options and uncheck 'Enabled' if its already checked.
