    Were there any inclusions/ exclusions that shocked you guys for this years intake? I was surprised some players from the U20's panel haven't got contracts that ive seen or they might have gone to Ulster I haven't seen their intake yet

    Interesting looking back on the first post in this thread, of the back 3 positions mentioned, it hard to argue than any of them actually "made it" .... especially compared to the front 3.

    Hard to say what it was could just be bad luck through injuries etc, maybe they simply weren't as good as the players ahead of them or coming up behind them, bad coaching or many other things. could be anything really but one things for sure is that the academy system isn't working as well as it could be especially for backs

    Heard today Connacht may be pulling out of the Academy Inter Pro's due to start this Friday coming, I would find it very surprising to be true.

    surprised none of Terry Kennedy, Matt Byrne or David Aspill have been taken into or accepted offers from any of the academies wounder if they'll play in the upcoming new U20/Dev interpros for leinster with a view to maybe late entry into the academy

    Kennedy was training with Leinster during preseason, the others weren't. Neither was Greg Jones.

    None of them involved with Leinster u20.

    Will be interesting to see what the IRFU do about this? Will there be any sanction imposed?

    I would presume nothing will be done, have heard Leinster are up in arms with a formal letter of complaint already being handed in to the IRFU.

    In fairness, the injury situation is very bad and the academy is very low as well. But even with the best reasons in the world, it should not be left that late. Better planning would allow a team to be fielded, even bringing in young AIL players

    Exactly even Leinster last season with World Cup players and injuries still fielded, I also believe the academy format where not only under 20s are used but academy players also was pushed hard by Connacht in particular and then they pull out. Also with only one proper pre-season game this season they are going in poorly prepared. Life with the big boys seems to be a struggle so far with Connacht. Hope season goes well for them but more of a level field this season as a not post world cup or Lions. Will be interesting

    I was told Lamour and someone else went straight in late but can't remember who the second person was. Could well be Jack Kelly.
