    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I'm sorry but you would wanna be bat sh1t crazy to spend that kind of money on a phone something that is so easily lost/stolen/broken, even if you do follow a half eaten piece of fruit cult that is madness.
You could get a phone, camera and laptop for that. or a holiday with change for a phone, a decent spec gaming desktop (you wouldn't need a phone as you would be gaming to much :p)

Ill stick to my long established €600 limit, if those prices are genuine looks like china is getting my money

Need to upgrade nexus 5 (which is falling apart) and was planning on the Pixel 5in

Purely because its a decent 5in screen and there arent too many of those about that will continue to get the android updates like my nexus has for the last 3/4 years.

Battery size mentioned is a little on the small size for what I was expecting though. 32g is plenty for me as 90% of whats on my phone automatically backs up and doesnt everyone's at this stage??

I've zero interest in a 5.5in no matter how often Im told feels great in one hand, for me its just too big

Its the price thats gonna be the decider ultimately

This is pretty much me too. I have a lg g3 and its just a bit too big 5 -5.3' would be fine for me and a 1080p screen as 2k or what ever is pointless on a phone and just sucks battery.

Its hard to come by a phone with that type screen and a top shelf processor too so thats why im hoping the pixel will be reasonably priced.

The only thing that annoys me about getting a phone that has bloatware on top is waiting for the over the air updates and their roll out which only run for a limited period of time and takes much longer than straight from source.

I know you can flash your phone etc, but I cant justify paying a good whack for a phone then having to do all that faffing about as well!

Tbh Google are in la la land and they are only helping Apple.

Unless your an android fan specigically, if they cost the same which is your average Joe gonna buy this or an iPhone?

Google has been turning into Apple over the last few years. They destroyed the hangouts app and point blank refused to add a dark theme to Lollipop and Marshmallow despite customers asking for them to name just a few of their bs moves.

You're in a seriously small minority there, and this is coming from someone who has spent untold hours of my life theming Android apks to make them dark :D

You would think that if they're upping the android game, this phone would come with all the bells & whistles??

If any of this is true then things just got more interesting.

That desktop mode sounds very cool. Damn you google, I'm now getting tempted to upgrade from the 6p.

Tasty rumour. There were rumours a few months back that these glass panels would support touch, the rumour back then was that it could be used for interacting with notifications some way.

Plus it was leaked a few weeks back that Pixel devices would have dual partitions, rumour being they could update seamlessly in the background and then switch partitions. Maybe these 2 partitions will be for chrome os and android and plugging in your device or casting will switch to chrome OS. Could be a sort of bridge beta test for the rumoured upcoming merge of both OS's.

The bezel ratio is highly disappointing given the lack of front speaker or front button, and apparent cost.

When you see the OP3 and S7 it looks a bit crap in comparison.

You need to have symmetry to the phone. It's gonna have 71%-73% screen-to-body ratio, like virtually every other device out there. Non-issue, imo.

Looks like a mix of a few phones. Looks like the HTC 10 from the top.

Will the pixel launcher and icons and everything be coming to the 6p also?

Will there be any pixel exclusive stuff?

The Pixel launcher apk is out now for all phones. Tried it but lack of swipe left for Google Now and not being able to replace the clock killed my interesting in it. The swipe up for app drawer was cool tho.

Except it's not really, cause Samsung have already debunked that with the S7 and Note 7.

Why does it need to have symmetry with every other phone? That makes no sense, surely the point of these newest and greatest phones is to show some innovation and do what hasn't been done yet? This phone was a perfect opportunity for google to do that and it just looks like an updated 6P/HTC 10 hybrid that's going to cost a bomb.

Sure, the Note 7 is higher, but the standard S7 isn't. This is only due to the curved screen, which I'd rather be without.

I don't know what you mean by symmetry with other phones. I mean that you have to have space above the screen for the earpiece, front facing camera, proximity sensor etc. A phone would look completely unbalanced if it didn't have a similar space below the screen.

Um.. you used the word symmetry!

From looking at the phones there's a lot of unused bezel even taking the front camera etc. into account. They don't have any front button, they don't even have two front speakers like the 5X/6P did, and yet they've just as much bezel as phones with those features.

I'd expect phones with less on the front of them to have better ratio with their screens otherwise what's the point?

Right now if you showed me a pixel and HTC 10 I'd take the 10, same screen, but at least the 10 has buttons underneath the screen which frees up more screen space.

Yeah, I used the symmetry in relation to the design of the phone. You were using it in a totally different context, which is what I didn't understand. I don't care about symmetry with other phones, to be honest I still don't know what you meant by it.

In any case, the bezel doesn't bother me, although I agree having fingerprint scanner and hardware buttons on the front as with the 10 is much better.
