Pity they subbed willian. He might have given that free kick that hazard earned half a chance

But who gives way for Aguero's spot? I'm quite fond of Costa now so does Ibra go?

Blankety blank for me. Haz and Mané do absolutely nothing. Great start...

Does Hazard warrant more time? How bad was he relative to the rest of the team?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 458 ✭✭Xaniaj

A front three of Ibra, Aguero, Costa is possible with 2 cheap MFs which includes Capoue... I'm not decided as it was originally going to be Costa making way for Aguero but Hazard may make way yet.

    He was awful.

Stuck wide left. But the whole team didn't click. I wouldn't rashly get rid before some consideration.

Shyte. I'd really like to give him more time because I believe he will come good but need funds for Sergio next week...

Need to ship out Costa or Ibra to get Kun back in - thought it was open and shut but Costa has been making a case for himself the last couple of games and the extra cash would be nice.

I'm hoping something will happen to make this decision for us!

    2 from 1 (Mane)
Took Costa and Hazard out in wildcard so mixed feelings.

Lots of my rivals have a Hazard/Costa combo. I'd probably have taken 9 points as a return from them if I'd been offered it.

Having transferred Hazard out I'm particularly glad about him being the one to blank.

    Friday Night Debate:

Is Costa a better option than Hazard now for the medium term?
    Yes.

I've been nicely surprised at Costa's behaviour tonight in a big game. Admittedly he'll never have Bergkamp's everlasting class but he's become back a footballer rather than the street scum he was acting like under Mourinho. Don't know if he''ll continue that way but I may see one reason in that change.
Julen Lopetegui. Current Spain coach who got Costa back in la roja and he scored a brace lately. Granted it was only Liechtenstein but Lopetegui asked him to play differently and tried to integrate him beter with the team which involves less rabid dog playing from him. There's no more this evil pact with Del Bosque over his presence with la roja that only led Spain to disaster.

I've been very disappointed with Hazard tonight. He brought nothing to the team. True Chelsea were woeful bar for the 5 min after Costa's goal and their late last 5 min push but he's supposed to be the one who creates, who tries something different. He just put up some accelerations along the touch line. Headless chicken style. He reminded me how he fails to make an impact with Belgium despite their golden generation team.

On the other hand. 'Pool impressed! The way they controlled the game, the way they play (the ball is faster than any player), their will to go forward while still keeping some balance. Almost like a symphony. Ah well, Klopp. His touch is really visible now. And it's good for us since there are goals in this Liverpool side. Only conundrum is which mid to go for. Looks like they'll all share the big points from one GW to the other.

If Kun-Ibra-Costa Sanchez 'Pool mid is doable I may sacrifice Hazard with my incoming WC.

Had captaincy on Hazard but changed it at last minute to Ibra...hopefully a good move.

Did you see Costa in any of the other games .......nothing has changed AND he didn't look half as good tonight without the nastiness .

    Actually scratch that. I'm on 2 (-8).

    Well **** that.

When I made my kdb transfer, it said I had only taken a -4 but it never indicated I was moving to a -8.

If I had known that, I would have moved on more deadweight and popped the wildcard.

    I'M SUCH A CASUAL!

    No I didn't.

But tonight against 'Pool (I believe the two sides don't quite like each other) I found him more disciplined than I've so often seen him in the past (particularly under Mourinho). I don't think Conte will fancy very long his rabid dog playing cards getting style if he, as you say, continue to make a habit of it.

Just to be clear though, I don't expect him to revert to a Bergkamp classy, fair-play and elegant player but he was not as nasty during his spell at Atlético than he was under Mourinho. Mourinho lately made a habit of turning his sides into complete nastiness, dare I say madness. So far, he didn't at United, maybe because he's finally at peace with the challenge he awaited for so long. I was watching a lot of La Liga football and when you looked at Pepe, he was kinda possessed by the devil (with red bulging eye and almost slobbering :p) under Mourinho. Remember how he turned Marcello into a rabid dog too? That was no surprise to me that Costa lost his mind so often under Mourinho. So if he'd just turn back to his Atletico years, it'll be fine for me.
