While I look forward to season 2 - I do kind of feel its a show that didn't need a second season. I would have liked that to be a self contained story - or if they wanted another season of it do it like the cloverfield 'sequel' where it is just a similar kind of take, but not a continuation of the same story/universe.

It could have worked as a complete standalone, but with the way the story ended
with Will spitting out the worm thing in the bathroom and travelling back to The Upside Down, and Hopper leaving food out in the survival box in the woods?
    it will be a continuation.
There has to be more to The Upside Down than just the one monster. Don't forget that when Hopper and Joyce where looking for Will, they found a face hugger-esque pod in the forest.

They have confirmed that season 2 will take place a couple of years after the original.

On the Upside down part, they had monsterous amounts of stuff done up to explain all that in season 1 but they thought it would take away from the story so said they will explore more of that in season 2.

Thanks for spoiler tags lads, I've only watched 2 episodes so far, really must get around to the rest...

Check this video out, my mate recreated the soundtrack with his little Korg synths, not sure if you have to be on Facebook to see it :

They've confirmed the second season is a continuation - and they have openly discussed they type of driection they want to go. It was just my feeling as I was watching it that it was one of those shows that would have been best as a single season.

I'm glad they wrapped the main story up in one season - but there's definitely a lot more to the story, characters and universe than 1 season.
If we'd have been left with a major cliff hanger at the end of S1, and Will was still trapped in the Upside Down - in my opinion, it would have ruined the story.
The story as it is has a great sense of urgency about it, which they kept up for the full season.
They tied things up in such a was as to finish out the S1 storyline but also leave the universe open for expansion / create a new storyline with Will puking up the worm.

They could have turned it into another Lost, and just tried to drag out the story as long as possible but they've handled it pretty well as far as I can see.

I still love Lost. I have war with mates and defend it (stupidly)

Yeah, I liked Lost. Although I only watched the last series after about a ten year break from it. It was very confusing.

Have never finished Lost. Got to about Ep. 3 in season 5 and never went back to it. No particular rhyme or reason. Just never put the DVD back in the machine.

Enjoying the second season of Narco's on Netflix at the moment.

On episode 4 or thereabouts and its been as good if not better than the first season - well worth a watch.

That's next on the Hitlist. Hearing nothing but good about it.

Season 1 was good, not great. People were WAY too overhyped about how "Great" season 1 was.
Objectively it was good, but it was a poor mans Breaking Bad
I too have heard that season 2 does improve on what season 1 had.
Season 1 kind of fizzled out. Essentially where it mistyped for me was where Stranger things got it right.
Have a proper ending and tell your story in 8 episodes and not 10

I binge watched it last week, its brilliant :D

On a side note, Escobar's son released a statement a few days ago about the inaccuracies in season 2 that was well worth a read :)

Sure it might'nt be everyone's cup of tea, the missus has no interest in it at all. I kinda stumbled on it by accident and it seemed to strike the right note.
Who knows, if it had been hyped up I might have seen it differently or expected more.

Been meaning to watch Stranger things for a while. Like Knave its on the list. Another one for those long winter nights when Destiny servers are undergoing maintenance. :D

Not sure if this works in iOS. On android the messages weren't loading for me last night. I deleted the cache and data from the app (via the android settings). Logged back in and it seemed to work for me.

It's kinda working for me on Android. Messages coming through, but having to scroll from either the top of the thread or the middle everytime is kinda annoying.
