i know the owner, he has fitted a new turbo as it was in my yard after being fitted, they were dropping back my yoke after doing the front discs, a very competent indy imo,

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Pretty sure I bought a Lancer off the chap selling Duke's 9-5. He's in the trade and a fairly sound bloke from what I gathered.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,063 ✭✭✭Buffman

That 95 is ridiculous. I wish was doing small mileage to justify it.

Here's an oil burner for ya, 1.9 TiD asking €2250, so negotiable bangernonics territory. No leather seats though.

The problem is not about how competently the new turbo was fitted. Nobody is questioning that.

I think B00056718 is just questioning why it needed a new turbo in the first place. A proper question and the answer is not good

Don't tell Augeo about this post though, he'll get his flamethrower out again :)

Really trying not to buy this at the moment, it is the car I have always wanted . If it is as good as it sounds and looks in the photos it would be a nice car to get

He'll still need to knocking a few bob off the asking to shift it with the body damage and wheel bearing. That plus the new turbo required at 126k km opens up questions about how it was maintained in general by the previous owner. (I see from a reg check your friend only bought it a month ago)
    Esel wrote: »

Main issue would be possible oil starvation leading to the turbo failure. The earlier 9-5 petrols had well know issues with oil starvation. These were largely cured in this later generation, providing service intervals were adhered to and correct oil was used.

(PS, this is the car we're talking about, was posted a few pages back so people may have not seen it.)

'07 9-5 Vector 2.0t auto - leather, Xenons, sat nav etc, and NCT'd to 10/17 for €1950. A lot of car for the money imo, even at the top of the bangernomics budget.

    Lovely car, sh1T photos

Sorry to break up the Saabfest, but sticking with the Swedes, well sort of anyway, the V40 was made in Holland.

Well specced 03 V40 only 100k miles, NCT until March, asking €500.

Chrome door handles on one side only so probably repaired at some stage.

2.5 TDI Quattro automatic...all the car you'll ever need :P Nicely speced car, test is to 1/17 which at this stage of the year isn't the longest, but for €950 all the same

127k miles which isn't much at all, owner for 23 years, NCT 9/17. This will go forever, and at €750 its a bargain imo.

    -

OT but good to see you back around these parts too

Those don't have the velour seats or rev clock either but still for that money it's hardly an issue.

    Thanks :)

Our Swift is back up with 10,000 miles less and is seemingly now a one owner car.

I had done a cartell report a few weeks back. It was a one owner car, just looks to be doing d rounds between a few 'traders' trying to get rid of it

5 stud wheels indicates some serious intention all right - could be a fun car.

But didn't someone go to see it and thought interior was well worn?

Have to say tho, it looks sharp.

That swift looks nice but isn't it overpriced by about a thousand.

Probably is, but I think when it was originally featured here, it was asking closer to bangernomics money.

Cheap daily driver that needs a bit of TLC with the door and interior, it would make a good rolling resto for the winter and flog it in the spring for the same money. Faded red paint could probably do with nothing more than a good detail/polish. Seriously economical either way.
