How do I know if Mortgage payments did not go through?

I got the annoying letter in the post saying I am "in arrears" 2 weeks after the payment date. Is there some text alert service where the payment can be notified and rectified on a more agile basis?

Thanks for contacting us here on Boards.ie I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with this service. You will receive a text only on the first missed payment. After this we will only notify through letter, I will pass this feedback on to our Mortgage Department.
