Bah, I was waiting for the game to return on BBC Four and it turns out it's now on BBC 2. RTE 2 are showing it as well.

And bbc 2 didn't even rejoin the match until a good six minutes into the second half.

Germany equalise. Brazil's luck ran out.

Germany need to go for the jugular now. These lads will crumble.

To try and not sound like Dunphy, the Game is heading in a very bad direction after watching these 2 teams.

From the excessive amounts of male grooming and preening by the Brazil team, to the clear lack of ability to counter attack, to the Germans preferring to pass the ball around the back rather create a chance.

Coaches have a lot to answer for. It seems to be a growing trend that young players have a complete inability to make a counter attack count and chose to keep the ball and slow the game down.

But there's been plenty of attacking play on show.

The Germans scored 21 goals in their 5 games prior to this one and if not for the woodwork would have scored more than the one they already have tonight.

There's outstanding quality on show here and I'd say it's been a very good final.

It's not the quality that is the problem. There are a lot of good players there. My problem is the mentality of the players.

The German team are passing it around the back for no apparent reason. They are achieving nothing by doing it and look most likely to concede when they are passing it.

You always have to remember that the players on show are not the best that Germany (and probably Brazil) have to offer. The German squad selection was a real headache, and a technical nightmare.

    - No more then 2 players from any given club
    - No players who played at the EC in France or the U19 European Championship
    - No players who had known Transfers during the summer
    - No "Big Names" for the Over 23 players

I am surprised they made it as far as they did, considering that there are players on the field that haven't yet made a 1st League game for their clubs.

Brazil need to make this domination count before it slips away on penalties.

Really enjoyable game it's going to be hard luck on Brazil when they lose it on pens.

Bender is being a brat. He can't run but is refusing to come off as a sub.

Would be something if Weverton proved the hero. He wasn't supposed to be here but the original keeper chosen for Brazil, Fernando Prass, got injured.

Gnabry got out of jail there.

Weverton saves! Neymar can win it!

Fairytale finish for Brazil and Neymar.

Delighted for Neymar after how his world cup ended.

Fair play to Neymar that took bottle to have the whole weight of Brazil on his shoulders.

Sentimentality aside, I think that result is just about right. It seemed to be all Brazil from the German equaliser onward.

    Amazing script like ending
Neymar under huge pressure, weird run up, but great finish.

Delighted for Brazil, football needs them doing well and this will bring the pride back to Brazillian football after the horror show at home two years ago.

Amazing fairytale finish. Neymar gives Brazil its redemption while Weverton, the late call up to the squad, saves a crucial penalty.

Absolutely delighted for Brazil and it was well deserved. Brazil were never the same when they lost their inspirational leader at the last World Cup, so it was fitting to see Neymar score the winning penalty tonight.
