Yes, got it set up. No major issues at all to be honest - found it very easy to setup and install. Have hidden the wires away around the windscreen and down by the drivers door. No issue linking it to the app - its automatically downloading all photos and associated clips for me to my phone.

Example video - nothing exciting, just an example for quality when set to 1080p. Great parking by the Audi :p

Thanks. Are you using Android or iPhone? Are your tracks showing correctly?

Android - Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Tracks are showing clearly but only the "captured" tracks when I hit the button (photo + 11 second clip).

    What issues are you having?

Tracks seem to be in Germany. Trying to figure out from shape of track if they are mine.
When you view the track on phone as you are driving, does it show the track or just blue dot around where track started.
What Version is your app? I was in contact with ddPai, sent screenshot of my app version and they said I need to download the new version.

Not in the market to buy myself now but have been following this thread just to see what's new on the market. Was on amazon and this was suggested to me: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01EY1JIUI/ref=s9_simh_gw_g107_i8_r?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=desktop-3&pf_rd_r=00BXPTM06TVD6WN1VBHP&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=26de8ef0-2ad7-412c-8634-6cd03b7b73e2&pf_rd_i=desktop

I though it looked like a good deal, blackvue style design, seems to have a lot of features, great reviews and a very affordable price. Only thing missing comparing to the mini 0800 series is a display really?

The anti-reflection is probably just a polarised filter.

They do work very good, but significantly reduce the amount of light that goes through.

Best quality pic i have ever seen from a dashcam. Considering its overcast the exposure is spot on and the sharpness is too. I can even read the number plate of that Audi which is amazing considering its side on to the camera.Would you mind telling us who you ordered it from thanks?

Hopefully no issues with posting an Ebay link here - please remove if there is.

Ordered in from Hong Kong and it was seized by customs. Total charge of about €35 for release, including postage. So all in all, it cost me about €160.

Would highly recommend based on experience with it to date.

    General question here....

Does everyone completely remove their dashcams from the car when you're not using the car? Do you completely remove the sucker and other components. I'm interested in getting one, but the thoughts of having to dismantle every evening or whenever I'm parked in town, puts me off.

Same with mine. It's not noticeable from the outside of the car unless you know it's there although mine is the Mini series dashcam so it sits behind the rear view mirror and can't be seen inside the car either.

I remove mine when at home as its parked in the drive, probably wouldn't leave it there when parked up for work either.

Same here. TBH, the camera is cheap - i'd be more concerned about the replacement cost of window(s) that they'd put a brick through, and the inconvenience of that than the camera going missing.

If its of concern then try getting something on the more discreet side of the various options which are available, and be ready to black tape over branding or other markings which might increase its prominence.

Mine isn't hard wired and plugging in and out of the cigarette lighter is probably as much as I'd do. I'll consider hard wiring on next change of vehicle. If i were to mount and dismount the device every time I'd get into the car then it would get little use. Already, it needs to be something pretty special to motivate me to take in the memory card out of the thing and bring that indoors to download. I admire the determination of some of the posters around these parts that find segments of footage that are interesting enough along their travels and go to the effort of uploading. But this probably is dependent on what you are getting it for in the first place - entertainment value or evidence in case of accident or both.

Also, if you are going to leave it in parking mode then it will obviously be a must do.

Can anybody recommend anyone in South Dublin to hardwire a dashcam?

I am interested in the Nextbase Duo but this model alot cheaper on Amazon than in Halfords.

And also, those who have the Nextbase Duo, how do you find it?

Does anybody have any other dashcam that records in front and behind the car?

See the DDPai in my link above - the camera section is attached via magnet so very easily removed. No need to remove the mount/suction pad at all. Very handy feature.

EDIT: Go directly to 7.15 on this review to see what I mean:

Am considering getting the DUO, have seen the footage from one and like the idea of having the rear-view recorded as well.

I suggest going back over the last 10/20 pages of the thread and read what people are saying about the various dash cams they have bought.

I also suggest you stop trying to be smart.
