Help - Audi TT Mk2 - All driver door controls not working - window stuck fully down

Bit of a nightmare scenario. At the end of the NCT all the controls in the drivers door decided to stop working e.g. Window, boot, petrol cap, mirrors, lock etc. So I'm left with the window stuck fully down. It's like the whole door is dead. Not even the lights on the controls are working.

Not sure if it happened mid test and they felt sorry for me so gave me a fail with a visual retest!

From a search it could be anything from wiring loom to the actual lock. Don't fancy brining it to Audi so looking for any recommendations in cork. Taking a good interest in a previous post looking for an Audi specialist in Cork. Or could any good mechanic sort this or even an auto electrician.

Hopefully my black bag cover up will survive the weather.

Have already replaced both window regulators in the past 12 months so she's really testing my patience.

    Cheers,
    KNS

    Maybe it's just a blown fuse ?

Thanks. Will give that a try. Was going to take a look at fuses last night but had it so well wrapped up in case it rained I was too p!ssed off to redo it all again.

Just getting the window up is my biggest worry in the short term.

You can get the window up by holding the lock button on the key fob, or if that's not programmed in just lock it with the key in the door and hold the key in the lock position until the window closes.

Although if it's a wiring loom issue and the door is dead this may not work.

Door just seems to be dead. When you lock from the remote the the window doesn't move and the lock doesn't even engage. I have to lock the door the old fashioned way.

Has to be the wiring loom going to the door so. Had a similar problem with an A4, easy enough fix if that's the case.

EDIT: A bit of wiggling, fiddling with the loom in the door jam might give you a moment of power to get the window up.

Tried that at the NCT centre with the tester. He as a sound fella. Will try again this evening with a bit more force.

Got in contact with a mechanic so will hopefully get it sorted. Semi panic over.

Black bags lasted the night so a bonus.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. Just in case this happens to anyone else. Turned out to be the wiring. Five or six of the wires were gone so new wiring loom needed.

Is it me or are the quality of components getting worse. That's two window regs & a wiring loom in 12 months.

A lot of modern car wiring can be ****e. How old is your car?

    2008.

Was only thinking about it the other day and my repairs must be 75% components in the last 4 cars. I'm not including maintenance items just things that have broken. Window regs x 3, sensors x 3, headlamp washers, xenon headlight, horn. Biggest mechanical failures have been water pump and maybe 2 shocks but they could be wear and tear. Always maintain and service very well. My wife has wrecked a clutch but I don,'t think that was down to the part 😉
