Hi there, I remember years ago I've heard that the government was planning on banning imports without license. Has this come into effect yet? Haven't been around in a while.

It's legislation in effect but you essentially still buy from abroad as long as guns are downgraded to under 328 fps with a .20bb

They can seize it and have it and have it sent off to be tested ,
Wouldn't recommend it if buying over seas ,
Some airlines won't even take airsoft

In theory it can be seized and sent to the Garda ballistics dept. for testing of the muzzle energy, you will probably have to declare it, at the very least to the airline who may not allow it on board or impose some kind of stipulations.
Check with the airline and Make sure it's below one joule.
