Everyone has been pm'd above, ideally the less notice this thread gets the better so from now on if anyone wants to know the workaround just pm me. Don't post in the thread. Hopefully they don't cancel all the orders if they notice a high number ordered over the weekend.

Going to post it here as meteor don't seem to mind all the orders over the weekend.

You only need to use the workaround if you want a new connection. If you are on meteor or plan on moving to meteor then just go to meteor.ie and use promo code meteor30 at the checkout.

If you plan on using it on a different network then you need to follow this:

Add a upgrade or move your number to meteor version of the phone to the cart. Proceed as far as checkout and enter the promotion code meteor30 and apply it but don't enter cc details.

When code is applied go to meteor.ie again and add a new connection moto g/Samsung galaxy j3. You can then remove the upgrade version from the basket but the discount will still apply itself to your new connection order

    Moto G (3rd gen) - €89
    Samsung galaxy J3 €139

So I have added 1 to basket and applied code as a new customer (moving my number), but don't intent to move to Meteor. When the phone arrives will it accept my Tesco sim card?

It will lock to the network of the first sim inserted so if that's a tesco sim then yes.

About two years ago we did the first sim card trick on a Meteor Moto E with a 48 Sim.

    No problem, worked.

You just know there is a but coming.

Every time we brought it to the UK, it looked for the unlock code. Switched on and off and it found the network fine.

Brought it to France, same, looked for the unlock code and couldn't get it to connect to a network so had to buy an unlock code on eBay and after that had no difficulties.

I don't know why it worked fine in Ireland but looked for the unlock code when roaming.

If you are on a 02 sim consider changing to a three plan. As other wise it will lock to o2 network only.

In fairness codes are only about €1.50 anyway. Not going to break the bank if needed.
