Furyk said in his interview with Claude Harmon that there have been approx 1,500,000 rounds of golf on the PGA tour to date, and he's the only one with a 58. Amazing achievement.

Jim had a 59 in the BMW championship in 2013. Only man to do two in the 50s. Fair play

If it's only a par 70 it's not a real 58 IMO. It's no different to Darren Clark's 60 at the par 72 KClub so let's not get to carried away.

Don't get me wrong though, it's still class.

It's crazy he was only -1 for his last 6 holes and still shot a 58.

PGA tour app is a bit mad on my phone. I can't drill into any scores and can't get shot tracker up. Pretty sure thatvused to work.

Also interesting that in all their news stories, not one about big Jim today.

Anyone else have similar issues. I'm on Android.

    Less par 5's on a 70 track. I'd say it's pretty impressive

I regularly shot 20 under in Tiger Woods games years ago, so not exactly amazing by Jim. Still, a fair enough effort.

I think my record was 24 under around St Andrews.

Incredible round from Jim. 46? Just amazing. Happy for him. Seems like a very nice guy.

Makes sense, you could drive a lot of greens at St.Andrews Eagles galore.

    Lucky lucky boy Russell Knox

Knox gets his second win of the year and moves into top20 in the world.

Really should get him on European Ryder cup team now.

Jerry Kelly is one of my favourite players on the tour. Would have loved if he could have got it done today :)

He joins it at the end of the year. I think he's going to crush it

Only just read this stuff about the round of 58 by Jim - Wow! Not the person I would expect to do this but delighted for the guy.

Lowry building up a head of steam. -4 thru 5. Keep her lit shano!

Quiet back 9 but birdied 16 and has a nice drive away on 17.

Nick Doherty got the job of interviewing him for Sky......Kim speaks very little English, but Nick just babbled away anyway.

Lowry all over the shop with his third round - five birdies, three bogies and one double for a level par round. He won't make progress that way.

Luke Donald and GMac both shot 64 today - great to see!

A question that popped into my head since it's the eve of the playoffs and nothing really about it being mentioned. Does golf need another dominant superstar?

A Tiger/Schumacher/Federer/Messi etc.? Don't get me wrong, it's great to have the quality of field now but I can't help but think there isn't as much excitement as if we had a proper world number 1. Someone all the other golfers feared and it was an achievement just to beat him alone.

I can't see Rory getting back to Day's level in the short term. Day is driving the ball pretty poorly all weekend and he still leads Rory. Put Day on McIlroys drives and this tournament wouldnt even be a contest

What a putt by Day on 16! One of the best you'll ever see. Unbelievable.

    Nice 71-foot putt by JDay.

    Rickie having a meltdown

He still has the effect of the collapse at the Phoenix Open in his head.

Reed made hard work of that. Some of the fans behaviour was a disgrace
