This isn't specifically related to the Wetek but this issue I'm having with TvHeadend is driving me nuts!

Had my bouquet set up in TvHeadend and it takes me a bit of time to remove the few duplicates it tends to leave (as well as a few station it misses) - about 200 channels now - but I've got the Wetek downstairs which is fine, but I've got an AppleTV2 upstairs set up to connect to it running on the Wetek but it seems to do some sort of a scan on startup and resets all my channels on TvHeadend (<1000 channels). Both Kodi on the Wetek and ATV2 are set up identical with regards TV - set not to synchronise channels from backend but set to synchronise channel numbers etc.

Anyone got any thoughts? Going mad with it!

I'll look at mine later when I'm home with a laptop & get you the settings I use.
I'm nearly sure you sync channel & numbers though

But when using a bouquet it shouldn't leave any duplicates, you're selecting the bouquet in live TV on kodi instead of all channels?

Nope, selecting the bouquet in TvHeadend.. didn't even think about selecting bouquet in Kodi but seems fine on Wetek downstairs but when I access using ATV, it seems to just lose the bouquet entirely.

hadn't tvheadend on the second box at all, mustn't have set it up again after putting kodi 16 on :pac:

anyway had a quick go at it, so on the wetek live tv settings i've sync groups & channel numbers from backend enabled. channel order is disabled
done the same on the other box & it seems fine. any changes you make, especially on the web interface for tvh, clean data in the kodi live tv settings

what did you mean resets all your channels, what's happening exactly?

+ if you're guy who was on about recordings. be careful if recording & watching back another, usually it's fine but every so often it can cause a freeze, for me anyway

It can be done in the Sky Q skin by holding OK button.

So openelec seems pretty much dead in the water. So I'm thinking of moving to Libre.

Couple of questions, do I have to flash it to nand or can I upgrade from Openelec preserving all my settings etc? Really all I care about is TVHeadend as I really don't want to go setting that up again

Edit: Which do I use the core or play build?

This box is the wetek play alternative. So chose that one. Core is a completely different box.

Sorry if i wasnt clear i want to be able to stay on the same channel and scroll through the channels using the mini epg/infobar as you can do on a normal sky box.

Tried the sky q skin and it the same, ie you can only the up/down buttons to bring up the full channel list.

Yeah can never remember which is which. Think I'll give it a test on msd first and see how it goes with restoring settings backup from Openelec. Actually has anyone just used the update version to go from open to libre on nand I see that that is an option?

I upgraded to Libre from Openelec on nand, no problems at all. There's a download specially for that purpose on the Libreelec site. It's the Play build. It worked well, a bit better than openelec, but totally locked up one night and I flashed pbnigma to nand just for a change.

I'm going to go that route, just tested restoring my openelec backup to the MSD booted LibreElec and the only things I had to do were change it to 1080p and update TVHeadend where my channel list is out of order but working. Film on add on working , which is the main one I use for news channels and the UK +1's which I don't have on saorview.

Actually now I think about it ....... why would I go to the trouble of nand installing when it's working fine as is on msd :pac:

I have used tommycahir's guide install for over 4 months now, with very little problems. No new enigma remote, only the original remo and enigma 2 remo from playstore, for my phone. No updates and circa 1k channels ! Solid as a rock !!

No reason at all I guess. I just have a fear of MSDs failing eventually, but ironically it was my nand install failing that led me down the enigma2 path. :-)

I think there's no 'perfect' set up out there. There's pros and cons to each one, so if you're reasonably happy with what you've got, stick to it. However, it's interesting playing around with all the different set ups available, if you don't mind getting frequently frustrated 😀

My partner is convinced I enjoy playing with it more than watching it :pac:

Messing with libre last night I have a couple of add ons I don't use very often not working and failing to launch but still work in OE, does anyone know where/path to the logs it tells you to check when they fail to launch?

    It's a bank holiday weekend.

You won't find help for the dodgy box you bought here. None of us know the way it's been set up.

Wait for your seller to help. Or alternatively go to a different forum.

Can some recommend a good remote for this box?, I know it's been mentioned before just don't feel like going through the thread, cheers.

What are you using it with? Openelec or enigma2?

Would I not be better off with a keyboard remote?

I just thought it would be handy to have the full keyboard, I'm currently using a zgemma and I'm setting this up in another room but haven't got round to using it yet.

When you are on Sat there is no use I can think of for a keyboard. If you load Kodi it could be handier to have a keyboard on occasion but you can use the on screen keyboard!

I am not a fan of keyboards as they are too bulky but others might agree with you?

The guide was recently moved to a new section on the forum dedicated to enigma2 devices, link below in case the url changed for some reason.

Thinking of getting one of these with enigma 2 built in, are they any good compared to a dreambox or zgemma?
