Hey ladies! Just popping in to say hi- took a few weeks break as I was getting obsessively stressed about this Ttc stuff so no forums for me :) started my accupuncture. Had a consultation 2 weeks ago and he spent an hour with me going through every aspect of my cycle an reviewing my temps etc. he thinks I have poor quality lining due to v light periods, bad cramping and (sorry tmi) the amount of clots and dark/old blood that my period consists of. Back to him this eve cd2 and he did some work to improve blood flow and clear out all the old blood. Also gave me Chinese herbal tabs to promote blood movement. It's all quite interesting and enjoyable so at least I've something new to focus on!

Babydust to all of ye xxxx

Did you go to a specific acupuncturist (is that a word?!) that deals with fertility issues or will any random one do? Thinking of giving it a go myself but don't see any in my area as being recommended for fertility by anyone. Thanks and best of luck with it. I know what you mean about becoming obsessed. Those CB OPKs are costing me a fortune, I might be better off spending it on acupuncture and sticking to the cheapies!

Yes he specifically does fertility accupuncture- he seems like he realllly knows his stuff. I probably can't recommend anyone on here?? But if you want to pm me I'll give you the details!

Awh, babydust to you too. It sounds like the acupuncture is a very good route to take and you have such the right attitude to step back from the stress and focus on something else. Keep us posted as to how it's going and thanks for sharing x

Thanks Hun! How are you getting on? X

That's interesting Redteacup I also have extremely light periods too only lasting maybe 2-3 days also with cloths. I had asked my doctor but he said as long as they were regular it isn't a problem. But maybe I need to go back after my holiday and make them check. Before I went on the mirena 4 years ago I had very heavy periods, really regretting the mirena now. I'm 10dpo but temp dropped this morning :/

Same ol here, 6 dpo but not very hopeful and have only one more cycle left before we will likely stop. Definitely think I should give acupuncture a go too, I have 2-3 day light periods too, although no clots. Seems to be a good route and like you said, something else to be able to focus on which is good x

I'm wondering if accupunture could be the way for me too. Had it before for injuries and insomnia and it was fab! I've light periods now and a shorter cycle do think I'm going to look into it! So funny redteacup it's the little things!

It sure is! If nothing else it's an interesting insight into the way thins are linked. He thinks my lining is of poor quality (which I would agree) and because I don't ov until day 17, it's gone too bad by that stage for any chance of inplantation. I'm seeing him day 11 and day 14 this month to try get ov back to day 14/15 in conjunction with improving the lining to try see if that helps.

Hope you are doing good? Was gonna say keep on trucking but I suppose keep on f@cking might be a better mantra on this thread

When I get the transvaginal scans on my OI cycles at day 10 they measure the lining thickness then. If you wanted to check that side of things visually a clinic scan would tell you.

Haha definitely more apt on this thread.
Research acupuncturists now so hoping to find a good one. Wrecked and on opposite work schedules so don't know how lucky we will be this month. Babydust to all

I was a sobbing wreck about a week after ovulation when I was pregnant. Wasn't snappy or anything, but literally ads for Pedigree Chum with the puppies running around would have me in floods. It was a relief when I found out I was preggers cos I thought I was losing my mind!!

    Hey
8/9dpo here but feel like Af on the way. Sore back and lower a domain like Af. Hope not as only day 21 of cycle. Who knows what's going on!!!! Our bodies are a mystery.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 260 ✭✭Scousemouse83

Absolutely! I have ovulation sticks for this month as my cycle seems to be a bit all over the place at the minute.

I use opk's find them great, just hope my cycle isn't getting even shorter. I could be back on the evening primrose oil if so.

At the end of the TWW. Was expecting to get my period today but nothing so far. Did a test at 7.00pm even though it wasn't FMU because I couldn't help myself and it was negative. Hate waiting!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,514 ✭✭✭bee06

    What's FMU?

    First morning urine

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,514 ✭✭✭bee06

Is that important early on in testing? I tested negative a couple of days ago as I was three days late but did it in the afternoon. I thought the first wee of the day was only important in the days before the missed period. Sh!t! I drank a bottle of wine that night!! Still no period.

The hormones are more concentrated in the morning that's why they recommend testing then. You might get a positive later in the day after your missed period but all depends on your HCG (pregnancy hormone) levels and how hydrated you are. try again in the morning.

Mmmm wine. It is concentrated in the morning but after your Af is due you will get a positive in the pm as the hormones are high enough. But fmu gives you a definite normally.

Still the same here, on our 11th cycle but this is going to be our last as we're taking a break. Not feeling great about it all as hearing more and more people announcing pregnancies after little or no trying. Was feeling quite positive about it for the past while, telling myself it can take a year or more for many people but it's starting to get to me again now that we are stopping. Will probably go back to the clinic in a few months and see what they suggest for next steps.
Best of luck to everyone, we could do with some baby news here so really hoping for you ladies :)

Hey thought I hadn't see you post for a while. Ttc is so tough I'm finding the constant announcements tough so totally empathise there. Also the comments on if we have any 'news' such an intrusive comment at times when you feel sensitive enough. The break could be exactly what you need. No focus just time for the two of you. Definitely need some success stories on this thread! Fingers crossed for us all!!

Thanks Scouse! It's important to keep things in perspective but sometimes it just creeps up and takes over, you are right it is tough and there are definitely ups and downs to it! Worth it in the long run though and it's lovely to hear the good news on here.

Feeling a bit confused here. Took a first response yesterday pm and this morning and got a definite positive on both... (Albeit a bit faint) however just used a clear blue digital this afternoon and got a 'not pregnant'- don't know what to think now.

I don't think the CB as as sensitive. How many days post ovulation are you?

I actually have no real clue but i am on day 31. I came off pill in March, first two cycles were 27 days , last month was 30 days.

A line is a line Tara, congrats! It has detected the pregnancy hormone, can't fake that really. The ClearBlue are apparently not as sensitive as strip tests.

First response is more sensitive than Clearblue, so it picked up the hormone. A line is a line, so you have your answer. Congratulations!

Edit: and to you too Scousemouse!
