Will you be joining up anytime soon?

Or is a printers ink as far as you will go in regards to getting your hands dirty?

You haven't refuted what I said.

And you haven't answered the question, your so full of bloodlust and anger so why are you not rushing off to join in this fight?

Again it's easy for people like you to call for war (has anyone suggested using nukes yet? That's where these threads usually go) but you always want others to do the dirty work for you while you sit in your semi detached with a nice cup of tea tut tutting to yourself and whinging about how much more could be done., pretty sickening tbh.

British army tank driver challenger 1

What unit? What rank? If you were a tank driver your tank would have been in a platoon of tanks. The platoon would have been part of a company, battalion, regiment, brigade and division. I don't believe you every drove a tank.

Don't really care what you think kiddo I have mentioned my previous career on this site several times over the past few years so it's not like am just claiming this now.

Go on back to your books, maybe you will find a solution to world peace there, at least you will be safe and sure isn't that all that matters ;)

Yeah, Id didn't think his story added up either. He's basically refusing to offer up his rank and details because, in my judgement, I have difficulty believing they actually exist at all, Kiddo.
Ironically, it may be he who is sitting on his couch drinking tea and letting his imagination run riot with fictitious tales of war inspired by back to back episodes of Greatest Tank Battles on Discovery.

    Please.

Lol why would ANYONE give away personal details to random strangers on the Internet? Would you give up your name, address, pps number to some random stranger who asked for it?

Will leave you kids to keep fantasising about war and killing innocent people while knowing quite well that if you found yourself in a combat situation you would be hunkered down sh/ting yourself.

Well I'm not convinced. Like when your in a pub and you hear someone mouthing off that they are/were in the RA or such - you can be 99% sure they're not. My feeling is that genuine servicemen actually do as he said, put the career into a box on the shelf once done and keep it qt rather than mouthing off in the internet.

Anyway, from my knowledge at least, there is no position known as "driver" in a tank crew. There's the commander, gunner, loader and engineer.
Spectacularly, he has just given himself away.

No. but then I'm not on here claiming to have riddled civilian neighbourhoods with tank rounds in an illegal war.

You made a claim I was in an illegal war, you say I "riddled civilian neighbourhoods with tank shells" where did I say this?

Name the illegal war I was in, link to the post where I said I shelled civilian neighbourhoods?

Fascinating as it is when people claim to drive tanks on internet bulletin boards, I hate to bring back the minor matter of those 85 supposedly dead civilians.

Anyone aware of confirmations or documentary evidence, or even comment from the US military?

There are statements from activists that have been reported in the MSM.
However some people will only believe Uncle Sam.
Personally, I don't need to waste my time persuading them.

    Nobody asked you to.

I can clearly remember similar amounts of people being killed, in Syria and elsewhere, where footage quickly appeared on youtube of the attack or its aftermath. I'm just asking whether there's any footage, or confirmed reports by neutral observers.

I don't want you to convince me, because I'm not swayed by what you personally believe.

Yeah sure haven't they recently released numbers that claim only 64 - 116 civilians have been killed in drone strikes between 2009 and 2015?

Now there were up to 2500 "combatant" deaths but hey, they deem any male of military age to be "combatants" so that's a nice little get out clause for them.

I'm sure they will eventually make a statement on this and of course it will be someone elses fault and then all the "NUKE EM ALL" crowd and the American public can go back to believing that only ISIS targets are hit.

This is stupid. Despite it being not remotely relevant to the conversation, I find it very easy to believe that a CR1 driver might be on Boards. Besides, if you want to call someone on it, you're far better off asking something that perhaps a tankie specifically might know, such as the track tensioning process, or where the NAAFI is at Bovington. Demanding rank and unit is just asinine and indicates that you have no argument, you're just trying to deflect the interest in a childish manner.

UNICEF on Syria: "Absolutely nothing justifies attacks on children”

Statement attributable to Hanaa Singer, UNICEF representative in Syria, on the killings of children in northern Syria

DAMASCUS, Syria, 20 July 2016 – “This week in Syria, more than 20 children were reportedly killed in air strikes in Manbij and a 12-year-old boy was brutally murdered on-camera in Aleppo.

“Such horrific incidents confront parties to this conflict with their shared responsibility to respect international humanitarian laws that protect children in war.

“According to UN partners on the ground, families in the village of al-Tukhar near Manbij, 80 kilometres to the east of Aleppo, were preparing to flee the village when the air strikes hit.

“UNICEF estimates that 35,000 children are trapped in and around Manbij with nowhere safe to go. In the past six weeks, and as violence has intensified, over 2,300 people were reportedly killed in the area, among them dozens of children.

“We deplore all forms of violence and urge all parties to the conflict in Syria to make every effort to avoid the loss of civilian lives.

“No matter where they are in Syria or under whose control they live – absolutely nothing justifies attacks on children.

“All forms of violence against children must immediately come to an end.

So it's 20 children killed not 56 innocent civilians ,85 innocent civilians or 200 innocent civilians and 10 prisoners ,

We've seen a lot worse in the conflict especially at the hands of the Assad regime and it's supporters .

As much as it's a sad situation it's by no means will it be the last time civilians die in Syria

Actually they're just the children component of the civilians who are mentioned by UNICEF, the UN's emergency children's fund.

At any rate, phew. That's OK then. I look forward to similar nonchalance on your part if 20 white God-fearing Christian children in the United States are bombed by some Islamic guys.

It's worth mentioning that UNICEF are themselves relying on reports.

In reality, nobody can ascertain the number of civilian dead in Manbij, let alone who killed them, and what the context was (e.g. whether they were used as human shields, which has been happening around Manbij)

Also, nobody is being 'nonchalant' at all. Everyone agrees that civilian deaths are human catastrophes. Some of the most outraged people on this thread are the ones politicising these reported deaths.

    Exactly ,

These threads always go the same way America evil everyone else innocent civilians .

War is a dirty business but some people are more interested in hating America that actually looking at a situation objectively

The West have been slaughtering innocents for decades with barely a peep from the very vocal 'opponents' of violence

The Russians agree with you Gatling . Its good to know you look at these cases objectively whether it be Russia or America killing civilians in Syria.

How many civilians have been killed in Syria in russian strike's since September 8000 don't see any outrage why is that exactly.
Or can that not be explained

The killing of civilians in Syria, which both America and Russia have deliberately underestimated the numbers killed, is wrong whether its the Russians or Americans doing. i don't have much time for apologists of either side.
