US cannot force Microsoft to hand over emails stored abroad, court rules

    Well colour me surprised.

    Course they would have, they're good at bending over.


    Id say this Drug trafficking case if it exists and not just the US testing its reach was some lad with 100g of bath salts, one of their private prisons was probably only running at 99.99% capacity or something.

    I believe the cause of the data request stems from the SilkRoad case - SilkRoad administrator 'Libertas' was arrested here in Ireland and the FBI want access to his private e-mails stored by Microsoft to help them build a case for extradition.
