Unless Stenson does a Van deVelde it's pretty much his!

    Fair play .

Just seen how to use power around a links
How to control power around a links
    How to use spin
    How to use irons
    How to time attacking

    Rory are you looking.

Ah, you have to say well done to him - he was in prime position to finish 3rd, but is a bit raw at this level so understandable he found it a bit tough at the finish. Dont think he hit a single fat shot and certainly skewered some of the more fancied names this week. Whatever way you slice it though, a great week and looks like the lean times are over for him.

    Rare indeed

Not to mention how to putt.

    What a 3 by Phil......fighter........still 2 shots and could have been 4.

Not to mention how to putt.

Was an amazing Day - what would it have been like with Rory around the top.

It is still over - unless a bad bunker lie.

But he should play miles short or over them.

Sky Sports commentator referred to "Beefy" Johnston walking down the 18th as "the cave man cometh"....not a very pleasant thing to say, regardless of being humorous or not.

Jaysus Stenson very nearly went into that bunker.

why the **** did he do that

312 to the bunker and Stenson nearly reaches it with a 3 wood.

    Good drive by Phil.

Jaysus, I'd say he sh1t himself when he saw go towards that bunker!

They'd have renamed it for him!

Rory just isnt a good enough competitor. He has the long game for sure - fundamentally the best one out there. Short game adequate. Putting below average. But his real weakness is competitiveness, determination, belief, and focus to fight to the maximum no matter what breaks he gets or what his opponents do. If the magic isnt there and it isnt going to happen for him on autopilot, he doesnt want to know.
    Mentally weak.

In fairness to Rory, if you gave him all the silly puts he missed this week, he would have still only finished 3rd. So to come in 5th......... Well not so bad really was it?

One last big effort by Phil

Would you believe he will become the first ever male Swedish (or Scandanavian for that matter) golfer to win a major. Hard to believe given how many great golfers they have had.

Brilliant by Henrik........what a worthy champ

I do agree with this to a degree.

But he has 4 majors man.

And is very up and down - he could easily turn up and blitz them in a few majors over next 2 years.

Anybody would daft to write him off.

He needs people in his life he listens to.

Change a few people in his team etc.

One thing for sure - he doesn't look that happy playing golf.

Great afternoon of golf and a very worthy winner!

Any other day, any other player and Mickleson would likely have won.

Well that final round was a pretty good advert for golf.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

And to think he had two 3 putts and lipped out on 17. Think that's the best round of golf Iv ever witnessed giving the circumstances
