What's a good memento from Ireland?

Some Yank relatives are leaving Ireland this weekend, and muggins just got the order to go out and buy them a goodbye gift. Upper limit to the budget is around fifty quid I'd say.

They don't drink, so whiskey wouldn't really cut it. Looking for something that isn't tacky. They're a couple in their thirties, accountant-type personalities. It would need to be something I can buy today, or tomorrow morning at the latest. Any ideas?

    Adopt a junkie.

For just €5 a month you can adopt an endangered junkie and ensure their continued survival. The impending Celtic tiger 2.0 is ruining their natural habitat. Soon the boardwalk and O'Connell street will be ruthlessly taken over by cappuccino carts and cocktail bars.

Don't let the indigenous Irish junkie become another extinct specie. Are you going to stand by while 'The Man' employs the junkie in a well paying job? Junkies don't belong in a circus like an office.

Your contribution can make a difference.

The mother drove them to the bog on Thursday. They were so confused. "So, it's like coal that grows in a field?"

That's actually a great idea. A hurley each maybe, could buy them locally for half-nothing.

Yup, just peel off the Made in China sticker before you give them to them.

Find a stone, any stone. Give them said stone telling them you took it from the Hill of Tara or Newgrange or some place. Make sure you look shifty.

Or go to a junk-shop and buy some piece of junk. Tell them that it has been in your family since the Famine/Cromwell/the GPO when it saved great grandpappies life.

The best thing is that the USA probably has the biggest peat reserves in the world and they don't even know it. If I ever get a Green Card I'll be rich. Rich I tell ya!!!

A traffic cone , for effect get one from the bottom of a canal or the Liffey.

If you're feeling fancy , a shopping trolley.

    Pm for more details.

If you want something really 'Irish', then get a nicely framed copy of An Phoblacht. I got one for an old prof and he loved it so much he hung it in his office.

If they're of Irish extraction its the kind of thing they love.

Would you consider a stuffed midget dressed in green?

Does it have to be Irish? Would you not just get a fancy box of chocolates or something?

An Aran jumper and a dildo, if they don't like the jumper they can go f*ck themselves.
