    1. ... over ten years experience ...
    2. ... over ten years' experience ...

    The experience is yours. It doesn't belong to the years.

    The same way that a week's pay is the pay of a week and a year's duration...

    It should definitely have an apostrophe op.

    Ok I agree. Say you were talking about one year, you'd say

    One year's experience
    Not
    One year experience
