shops in centre open late on Friday?

Are most shops in the city centre opened until 9 this evening? Been years since was in town on a Friday evening...

I don't think all shops open til 9pm anymore - even on Fridays. Some do, but I think a lot of them would close at 8 - it's just not as busy as it used to be.
