New series is sh ite like most things made in the states, sooner they head back to the uk the better but im sure there looking at the dollar signs

They turned up on an episode of chasing classic cars with Wayne Carini (another favourite show). He was doing a UK special on very old classics.

The link to Wheeler Dealers was the car they ran all dressed up in 1920's gear on a London to Brighton run in veteran cars.

The push to the states was inevitable. Sort of "you scratch my back......".

I think they may loose their UK audience. The attraction was not the buy and sell as they made peanuts, but the fix. The US cars seem easier to get spares, with no need to go to guys in a shed. There is very little craft on show.

The civic episode was painfull. The bit where mikec0ckboy was offering to help Ed remove the bonnet was frightening.I actually thought c0ckboy was going to be involved in fixing the Civic.Unfortunately he turned up at the end fitting guages. The more of Ed the better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some cars on that show. Wayne us fair boring to listen to thou.

As for Mike I think his time has come and ed should sack him.

I must be alone in not minding Mike at all. :D I liked the chemistry between them and him going off as was said to men in sheds in Cleethorpes for oddball parts. When it was more homespun, less overtly scripted, TBH less "american". That OTT stuff seems to sell well in that territory so I can see why they're going that way, but it feels unnatural for them both.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

I'd love one. For something thats designed for a bit of green laning, you're not going to be too concerned about the colour. More if it's hard wearing.

Guess the Americans don't like Ed very much then. Latest episode was all Mike. Well Mike and terrible product placement. Don't really get this series at all. Was sure Ed had a bigger role in the first episode, but the last two have been dreadful.

I used to think the same, but as I'm getting older the design is kinda growing me.The same applies to the BMWs designed by Bangle.
Maybe I'm loosing my mind :D

Its ok i agree with the beemers they are sexy ****ers ha but that mustang is horrible its a mix of a ford escort cabriolet and something else i havent put my finger on yet and the red stripes on the wheeler dealers one just made it worse.

Only catching up on the new ep now. The whole thing looks very wooden and "produced". Even though there's no mechanical work by Mike, he still seems to be the force. There is way too little work by Ed - "This is what I have to do" and then "Here's how it looks". When he started the wheel inserts and then it jumped to the car arriving in the garage I rewound to see if I missed something......there was a complete paint job and a stripe down the body.

Really peed off with how yankie the show has gone :( It's just pandering to American TV audiences. The whole drag race bit was a perfect example.

The sooner they go back to the UK the better.

They have utterly bastardised the show sadly

I am on the verge of giving up on it which is a shame as it is one of my favourites and Ed is great but there isn't enough of him in this show an too much Mike doing stuff and a studio feel to it

The blurring out of random logos and reg numbers and whatever else the editors decide shouldn't be shown really gets on my wick. It never used to be this way.

The next thing you know, there will be retrospective pieces direct to camera in that horrible way there is on most US 'reality' documentary series. 8-(

This season is terrible. All I can hear is Mike's whiney voice and it looks to me like Ed is being squeezed out... Dreadful stuff, the boring non descript cars isn't helping either.

Mike would wear ya down with all his bull, and him trying to do work on the vehicles is not doing any favours.I think the series is getting a bit tired with all the american stuff they are doing. After all, its going since 2003!

Why dont they do a resto on a MF 135.......:D

Tonight's Corvair was a lovely car.

As usual I'm late catching up on the new eps. First thing that let it down tonight was the intro of the car to the garage - totally smacked of cheap American TV with the car being wheeled into the garage and Mike creeping up on Ed. How the hell does someone not hear all the racket involved?

Better detail on the work done this week ie more Ed getting hands dirty and info on what/why things being done. Big let down was when Ed was working on the suspension we saw the new colour (or color as the Yanks say).......no sending it to a paintshop or prep, just old paint and now new paint :(

I think the only reason that Mike is now doing some of the actual work is just down to jealousy. Most people have watched the show to see Ed doing the hard stuff. I mostly ignore the stuff Mike presented, especially in the earlier episodes where he would beg to borrow someones car just to show what a mint condition version would look like. Also he is more condescending towards Ed....."go play in the sand" etc.

ARRRGH! This has really turned into an anti Mike rant that I didn't want :( Just want the programme to go back to the UK with the old production/directing crew.

......will still keep watching it though :o

In the early days, Mike often bought cars on "an internet auction site" and the Ebay logo would be blurred.

Might have missed something but why all the moaning about rust? Surely a Cali/Southern US one would be almost rust free. Would hate to hear them if they were doing a UK one

On again tonight, was moved because of Shark Week. 1968 Corvette.

Based on Brewers twitter for the last month (why do I follow somebody I dislike) I think something is likely to change with WD.

He is knocking Discovery UK a lot and then this:
