What was the best concert you were ever at ???

Seen as there is a thread on 'the worst concert you ever at' why can't there be one on 'the best concert you were ever at' ??

I've been to many concerts and find it hard to pick one as ive been to many great show so I picked my top 5

1. U2- 3Arena 24th November 2015- one of the best stage productions I've ever seen and the band were fantastic that night. Setlist was good but would of loved to hear ISHFWILF and one but the performance of bad was brilliant (and apparently was only added to that setlist mid show for some reason)

2. Bruce Springsteen- Nowlan Park Kilkenny night 1 July 2013- amazing show, the band was on fire that night, the whole bitusa album was played along with the classics. Bruce is an unreal show man. Saw him 4 times (most recent was Croke Park on the 27th May last) and all were great gigs but nowlan park was unreal. Great venue too

3. Rush- 3arena may 2011- unreal show, one of the best live bands around, performed for just over 3 hours and done the whole Moving Pictures Album. First time playing in Ireland too

4. Bon Jovi- RDS Night 1 June 2011- brillent show and one of the best setlists I've ever heard (full of classics). Jon had a leg brace on as he fell doing another concert somewhere before the Dublin shows. Voice sounded brillent and Richie Sambora was top form that night.

5. Alice Cooper/Motley Crue- Manchester November 2015- prob cause it was my first concert abroad but both acts were brilliant that night. Alice Cooper is an unreal showman and the show itself is cool (stabbing people, cutting his head off, giant Frankenstein coming on stage etc). Although Motley Crue were going through the motions a bit there show was brilliant and the guitarist Mick Mars (who suffers from a rare bone disease) is one of the best of all time and really underrated

Could go on and on as I'm seen other amazing shows , Fleetwood Mac (3arena 2015), Metallica (Marley Park 2009), Acdc(Aviva stadium 2015). honorable mention to Aslan (saw them in Waterford just before Xmas last year) always put on a good show and Christy still sounds amazing with all his recent health problems going on

The Who in Marlay Park were amazing, I'm delighted I got to see them live.

Slane 2003 with the foo fighters, QOTSA and the red hot chilli peppers was probably the best thing I've ever been to. No other festival has quite measured up since, for me.

Iggy Pop at Kilmainham. He was mental on stage. Created a great atmosphere.

Fleetwood mac at the O2. Lindsey Buckingham was amazing.

U2 in Croke Park in 1985. It was the first time they played Croker, they were touring one of their best albums (The Unforgettable Fire) and were just on the cusp of world domination. It was a very special atmosphere and a great selection of songs. The band themselves have said often that it was one of their favourite gigs.

I also had the privilege of seeing the late and much lamented David Bowie at the Point in 2004. He was fantastic, great selection of songs from right across his career. Being in the middle of 8,000 people singing along to Life On Mars is one of those great gig memories I'll carry to my dotage.

Another for The Who at Marley Park. Wasn't really into them but got a free ticket and they were absolutely fantastic.

REM at Marley Park was another brilliant gig that I really enjoyed

David Byrne at the Feile (Trip to Tipp) in 92 was absolutely superb as well

Rammstein in the O2 back in Febuary 2012.

Unbelievable spectacle and a great atmosphere.

I can still feel the visercal roar of heat from the pyros.

When all the crowd around you, young and old, parent and child, are rapt with joyous wonder at the sight of two middle aged German fellows engaging in mock sodomy - then you know you're witnessing something special.

Last year was at the Taylor Swift concert at the 3Arena, went with a friend who was not a fan. He was sure he wouldn't enjoy it that much.
He was raving about her when the concert was over and Vance Joy who was the support act was also top notch.
She puts on a great show.

Robert Plant and Jimmy Page in The Point in 1995. They opened with "Thank You", I don't think anyone else could pull off opening a rock concert with such a slow ballady type love song. The riff from Four Sticks played by an Egyptian ensemble was stuck in my head for days. And it was the hurdy gurdy players wedding anniversary. A great gig despite not playing "Stairway" but we did get an awesome version of "Kashmir."

Second place must go to Kiss in the O2 in 09. The complete opposite of Page and Plant in that it was all about the show but what a show! The drummer had his own bazooka. Paul Stanley's voice was a bit shot but they got through all the old staples and the video footage behind the band depicting the late Eric Carr during "God Gave Rock and Roll to You II" brought a collective cheer from the crowd.

Rammstein in the O2, 2012
Steven Wilson in Glasgow, 2013

A few others that probably just miss out: God is an Astronaut, Godspeed you Black Emperor, Sigur Ros, Blind Guardian, Hans Zimmer.

Kanye & Jay Z a few years back in the o2. In terms of a pure sonic and visual spectacle, it's unmatched. Know a lot of people who wouldn't necessarily be the biggest fan of either but even they were blown away with how good it was!

Muse at the Olympia in 2004, when they were at their best imo. Seen them a few times since and they always put on a great show but it was in a bigger venue so never had quite the same atmosphere as The Olympia

Me and my OH go to allot of gigs , so I would have to split it into 4:

Best at a festival : Foo Fighters at Oxygen
Best Stadium: Kings of Leon in the Allienz Arena in Munich
Best Arena: Fleetwood Mac in the o2
Best small Venue: Passenger in some Shi**y pub in Cork

Honorable mentions to Mumford and sons , Adele , Elbow , Gavin James and Ben Howard all savage gigs and immense live performers.

I was at that Porcpupine Tree gig, I never thought I'd get to see them

Crowd were a bit **** though, remember one guy kept calling for them to play Trains.

Queens of the Stone Age at the Olympia in 2011. The band were on fire and the crowd was electric. There was some atmosphere in there that night.

i was at that page and plant gig. kasmir stands out alright.

best gig i was ever at was probably orbital in the point just before new years eve 1999. its wasn't just the gig it was the gang i was with it was like the high point of the whole ecstasy era for us but also the end of an era in its own way.

Slane 2003, only really went along as my friends were into RHCP, QOTSA and the Foos but I came away as a fan of all the bands that played that day, weather was incredible, it was Feeder's first gig back with their new drummer and thanked the fans during their set for "helping them prove they were right to keep going". There was then a run of PJ Harvey, QOTSA, Foos and RHCP.

My now wife dragged me along to Justin Timberlake at the RDS too and for an awful venue he put on a brilliant show.

Jay Z at the Marquee was one of those "he's playing WHERE?" concerts, but it was part of his warm up for Glastonbury and in fairness he gave it socks for the entire gig.

That slane was amazing and was my all time fave until I finally got to see AC/DC live in 2009 they were unreal!

Edit: have to mention Metallica's 2006 concert they played entire Master of Puppets album I still listen to it weekly
