I find the seats on EDS/P to be comfortable, then mind you I've never done anything longer than a IRL-UK flight with those seats.
I love the seats on EZV\W, I find those to be the most comfortable seats.

Do Aer Lingus still fly A330's to Malaga (AGP)? If so, is there a schedule, i.e. particular flights on a particular day?

Considering flights to Malaga, but would prefer to get on an A330 and pay the extra for the business class seats if possible!

    edit:

just seen here the last non TA flight operated by an A330 was Faro, again, does anyone know if this is a regular scheduled service for an A330? or just a random based on AC availability and demand?

Looking at flight radar seems like the A330 to AGP is daily on the 7am flight. FAO looks to be just once a week on Sunday. Again the early flight.

AGP every morning, FAO only on Sunday mornings with the A330

Take a look at the booking engines!

It didn't there was 4 flights to DUB and one to SNN. The extra A330 to DUB was covering for a return trip cancelled Friday.

JFK-SNN down as landed at 05.21

Must be another FR24 errors in that case.

It is nice that the EI partial livery (or "away strip") looks decent for short term leases like this. Not sure if too many other airline livery's would be suitable for such partial application.

Where does that operate? Have never seen it in DUB

It does look rather good, as a temporary solution it's a fine job and doesn't take anything away from the brand. Would love to see a full version eventually, the 767 is a very nice aircraft.

One thing I've noticed recently is how badly done the repaints on the A330s have been, the tail shamrock has been applied so poorly that they're all different sizes and angles, sometimes the angle on one side of the tail is different to the other.

Here's the most recent repaint, EI-DUO before and after.

    Before: https://www.flickr.com/photos/132614944@N02/24626658343/

    After: https://www.flickr.com/photos/129245896@N02/26008635903/

I know it's a minor detail but Aer Lingus under Mueller commissioned a review of the branding guidelines and issued an updated version after standards had slipped during the 'dot com' years. Seeing these standards slip again is a shame especially as the 'Smart Flies' campaign has such strong branding and imagery.

Its a short term summer lease (operated and crewed by Omni Air) to boost capacity on the SNN-BOS route. This then free's up a B757 to move up to Dublin to operate the DUB-JFK early rotation.

Don't disagree with the point of your post, but want to note in your second photo, it looks like the rudder is deflected a bit, which is changing the perspective a bit.

Fair point, the rudder position does exaggerate it slightly.

This might be a better example: https://www.flickr.com/photos/111752039@N08/26533308331/

Still no word I'm afraid, Airbus still has one on its production list for delivery 2018, other then that nothing.

    Msn 197 at the bottom:

Getting to the stage now where we would expect some news on that front.
ie. announcement on EI expansion for 2017/2018 with addendum for "A350 order under review" leading to IAG 2016 FY results showing reassignment of some of those A350's elsewhere in the group perhaps?

Aer Lingus has officially been awarded 4 Stars by the ratings agency Skytrax, was just revealed on their snapchat and will no doubt be part of the route announcement shortly.

One of the A330s appears to have had a Skytrax sticker applied near the door.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 72,907 ✭✭✭✭L1011

Just shows how pointless Skytrax is - short haul customer care and soft product is probably the worst it has ever been now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,323 ✭✭✭kevinandrew

It was far worse in 05-07 I think, wasn't really until 2010 that improvements across the product started to appear.

Even with today's issues of catering (much improved over last summer) and the cabin cleaning, there is still more choice of fare structures, routes, timings and overall product offerings than there has been in the recent past.

On the long haul side of the business it seems to be doing great both in terms of passenger feedback and the financially.

Pretty sure we're about to hear what new routes are chosen and what fleet expansion to expect, announcement started at 12pm.

They all have that American football sticker at door 2L,they've added that surtax one this morning.

It's literally been applied this morning or at least revealed revealed in the last hour on their Snapchat account, says "Ireland's only 4 star airline" with the Skytrax official logo.
