I see the Audi driver behind the civic pulls the same lane change maneuver. Looks like a common occurrence on that roundabout.

There's no consistency on them in that area. At the roundabout where the video ends, if you were coming from the left of the OP, the rightmost lane, the one the Civic would have been in, I think is marked straight and right so they would have been grand there. The left lane splits into a left turn only and straight. The markings don't appear too far in advance so if there's lots of traffic you can be in the wrong lane before you realise it and chance pulling in front of someone to get ahead.

The roundabout before you get to that is the same, rightmost lane you can go straight.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

    I don't get it ..

I am not familiar with the roundabout but from looking at the video, they layout seems pretty clear to me.

Why do people in the civic pull moves like that rather than being in the correct lane - what advantage is it to them ?

As I said, the next roundabout in the same area the lane the civic was in may be marked straight or right so he'd be in the correct one, there's no consistency.

Depending on the volume of traffic going in and out at different exits, different arrangements will be in place on different roundabouts.

And most of the cars just steer around the human and bike debris and keep on driving.

Target fixation, it just had to be. He hardly made any attempt to avoid it, hell he even looked like he actively followed it! Easy to say sitting here on my couch, but it's something I'm conscious of when cycling.

That's like saying I can go 100 in a 60 because the last speed limit I was in was a 100.

Be in the correct lane for each one instead of picking one lane and expecting a run of roundabouts to match up for you. And if you find yourself in the incorrect lane (on the minescule assumption the civic driver didn't know exactly what they were doing) then don't try and force in to cut up a driver who was in the right one.

It's not at all like saying that. Nor am I defending the civic driver.

Some people who overtake cyclists think they automatically get to own the opposite lane or something. I came up to a car overtaking a cyclist once on a backroad and the car started to flash me as if I should get out of the way or something... Fcuk off and press your brake pedal :pac:

You see that alot in the russian videos where people just walk or drive around accidents and injured people. You also see alot of footage where a car sees a series accident and just drives off even though you know looking at it that people have been injured

My camera has started giving me trouble also. I am looking out for a decent one as well. The Mobius is great if you are on a budget but i think i will be going with a more upmarket one like this latest review from Techmoan.

This is a 2k resolution camera,so for best playback select 1440p on youtube and watch in full screen.

    (b) where the driver of the overtaking vehicle intends, after having overtaken, to turn left at a road junction and has signalled this intention

It means if there is a queue of cars going straight and you wish to turn left and there is enough space to undertake the cars waiting to go straight you can undertake as long as you turn left and have signalled to turn left.

I'm not sure how this point stands if there is a bus lane or hard shoulder in the way though. I presume you cannot just jump into the bus lane / hard shoulder and undertake, but at some of the bigger junctions there is usually plenty of space.

    For example at this juntion:
    0Frcyys.jpg?1

Both lanes are straight so you need point (b) to be able to undertake cars to take a left.
