I'd love the writers to add a few deleted scenes in this season's box set. Varys sitting in a boat for 20 minutes doing nothing. Littlefinger in a carriage doing nothing for half an hour.

And then end it with a "Happy now?" message.
    I'd be kidding myself if I said I wouldn't watch it :P

Anyone a bit suspicious of Benjen and his motives?

    Edit:

To add, I am not simply suspicious, I flat out believe he is a plant from the Night King sent to ensure Bran gets beyond the wall so they can follow, getting rid of this magic barrier or whatever it is.

Who's to say Tommen hasn't pulled off a Reichenbach Fall?

    This too shall pass.

You'd think he'd want to drop him right at the foot of the cliff, say 'there you go now, don't let the door hit you on the arse as you enter the lift.'

The amount of whites following them when he did pick them up, or lack there of, would make me suspicious too.

I'm also not 100% convinced his story checks out, surely if the Children of the Forest did revive him, they or the 3 eyed raven would have known about him and told Bran.....oh by the way your uncle is running around killing whites for fun as a half dead white himself.

So, IMO, hes either telling the truth and hes trying to help Bran or more likely, he is working with the night king. If he is working with the night king its rather lucky that hes now a white and happened to bump into his nephew after being turned by the night king at some stage in the last few years.

So Daenerys side seems to getting too powerful. As they seem to be taking inspiration form a lot of historical events I wonder if the armada will run into storms a bit like the Spanish Armada (but not being destroyed completely). I would still bet on Jon Snow beating the King at the end of the series. I think after such instability that the Middle-ages type people would prefer a King rather than a queen, or maybe Dany and Snow married.

I don't know if the middle ages people will be in a position to be picky if daenerys comes and saves them from the white walkers.

What I love about the series was how they always leave you guessing.

I was probably most shocked at Margery Tyrells death.
They went through all that with the high sparrow and the prison, with her slipping the note to Olenna and then finally for the penny to drop in the Sept and for her to realize that she is in real danger and try and get out. It was very exciting and until the last moment I really believed she d get out.
In a way, yes, exciting. In another way it made me wonder what the whole point of any of it was. Like I can ask again, what the hell was Pycelle for at any stage in six seasons?

They should add a load of deleted scenes to future DVDs, boring filler of characters looking bored on a boat/horse etc and lets see everyone moan about how crap those scenes are and how they shouldn't have bothered putting them on the DVD.
Most of Arya's last two seasons and everything Tyrion has done since leaving King's Landing and oh everything to do with Dorner and maybe a few other things would be on those DVDs too!

The whole Old Man and Tree (no warning to Bran etc) looked like a set up to get The Night King the power to cross the wall.

That's an excellent theory on Benjen, not one I had even considered to be honest!

I don't believe Benjen is a baddie. I think he knows that Bran passing the Wall will allow the Night's King to pass through but that this is also somehow necessary in order to finally defeat him. I think he's full of regret that Bran must face up to something terrible and that he will not be able to help him.

Six seasons of the old Maester guy, with apparently some sort of secret bodybuilding going on and only acting the ditherer... and then he's randomly stabbed by a bunch of kids with zero resistance.
    What gives?

He slapped one of the kids away but there was too many from all angles. He was fitter than he looked but he was still old.

We'll surely benjen could have took him over the wall himself if bran being there allows the dead to go through

He was Tywin Lannister's man on the council. The subterfuge was obviously to make others underestimate him and think him incapable of scheming. He arranged for the gates of King's Landing to be opened to Tywin's army during Robert's Rebellion. He also was involved in the death of Jon Arryn and helped cover up Cersei's children's illegitimacy.

There was no point regarding the end game of the TV show, it was just the way the character was. I guess it is expanded more in the books or may even have a different story arc, but the deleted scene between him and Tywin explains it a little. He didn't want to draw attention to himself in Kings Landing as there is always a power play by everyone and if he isn't seen as a threat then he will not be eliminated, or something like that.

Fair enough. Just filler really then. There was no point showing us him pretending to be weak but really being strong. They were probably going to do something else with him and then changed their minds.

He took him to the wall basically, a couple of hundred yards from it.

If the theory is correct he probably has to go back and join the ranks and prepare for the invasion once Bran gets back south of the wall.

His story doesn't exactly check out, and other things like how few wights were chasing Bran and Meera when it was basically an army chasing them through the cave.

A big deal was made of the Night King touching Bran, to put his mark on him so he could follow him now, even in to the cave which had a magical barrier protecting it from them. I would assume the Wall carries a similar magical spell so why would it not be true that the same will follow?

Bran crosses it, so the King can follow.

I am not stating it as a fact, but there has got to be some serious impediment to the Night King getting south of the Wall if he has not done it by now, obviously it is something he cannot do for himself. Imo he needs Bran to cross, whether Benjen is knowingly, or unknowingly aiding that cause I wouldn't say for sure, though I think Occams Razor does suggest he is working for the Night King.

Whatever it is, something is not right with him. He was attacked by walkers, stabbed and left for dead (when have we ever known the walkers to operate like that?!) the Children of the Forest saved him (they didn't mention this at all to Bran, nor did the Three Eyed Raven??) and he turned up just after the COTF and Raven are gone, when things look bleak, able to gain Brans trust easily even without him being his uncle and ensure Bran gets back to the wall safely.

Sticking out to me anyway, unfortunately we have to wait a ****ing age to find out!!

Nights Watch Oath, I'm guessing. Irony is a right old cahnt at times.

Was there any reason why Pycell was killed off?

Also, knowing that Cersei was protected by the Mountain, why was only Loris dispatched to retrieve her.... from her keep a mile or so away!?
(I assume it's artistic license, but it did irk me at first watch)

A few of the Faith Militant were sent to retrieve her

And Pycelle and Cersei were clashing for a good while now

Just showing that things aren't always what they seem as well. If the deleted scene was included it would have made it clear he was a Tywin Lannister man through and through and why is he pretending as well to be frail and a idiot. I may just start reading the novels as I am sure there are other storylines that haven't been developed due to the constraints of the TV show.
