Looks like people on yik yak have gotten the dreaded email... Nothing in my inbox anyway thank the heavens :pac:

I'm going to take this as a very good sign. (Just as I wrote that I got an email notification on my phone and nearly died. It was just from boards.ie).

Set my alarm for 8, but woke up at 7 anyway. This has been the longest hour of my life.

Guys, what does M mean on the sheet? My friend took a module in Galway and it came up like that.

Passed all my exams. Disappointed with a module but not surprised I didn't do as well as I thought. Got my first A1, ever. Got A2s before now.

    Roll on second year woo

Got a D2 in my FYP.

Slap bang in the middle of a 2.2.

I'm elated that I finally have a degree, but I'm incredibly angry with myself because I know I could have and should have done better.

Congratulations to everyone who got theirs today. :)

Still to do an FYP, grad should be in Jan '17. Ah well...

    Congrats though. Enjoy the Masters.

Hi, bit more complicated (although, don't think the below applies to me, where the deadline for submission hasn't been reached yet) than I thought...

Passed my exams. Disappointed with two modules but pleasantly surprised with two others so it all works out I suppose. Relieved enough to be starting second year with a clean slate though!

I got a C1 in an exam I walked out of thinking I had gotten an F in! Thank you Ian Clancy! Masters here I come :D

On another note, I've been asked to send an "official statement of your final degree result ". Anyone know what that means? Are they looking for my results or like the actual degree I'm being awarded, or both?

Well, you're not going to have the degree parchment until August, so I'd assume it's your module grades.

Just thinking, they want proof of your final grade, be it a first or 2.1 etc.

Random question - if you're not going to the graduation ceremony, do you need to like, inform people, or do they just take attendance on the day and send out the parchments at a later date?

You did the hard work by getting the marks, I just added them up. Good luck with the masters.

You don't need to do anything, they do a roll call and line you up in order before they let you upstairs on the day - if you're not there they don't call out your name.

They post the degree out within a few weeks, a friend got his to his house when he was already off teaching English in Japan since the end of July.

For some reason I had a niggle that you had to be there to graduate. Don't know why I thought this.

Do many people skip the graduation? Is it really worth waiting for hours, renting a gown, etc for 15 seconds of fame?

It's nice for the parents at least.

IMO, although the pomp and ceremony around it is a load of bollox, it's a nice way to celebrate the achievement of getting a degree. It's also going to be the last time your class is together, so there's that aspect too.

Only reason I'm not going is because I repeated the FYP, so I literally know about 4-5 people who'd be graduating on the same day with me (most of my friends are either graduated, in other departments or not graduating) so it would just feel odd to me to stand as part of "The Class of 2016". :o

Has anyone gotten their presidents letters yet for last semester?
Usually arrived by now just wondering if they are a bit late for final year students

Don confers anyone missing in absentia so that's not an issue.

Still no visit from my co-op visitor. Almost finished my placement (around 8 weeks left). He was supposed to but cancelled. I'm guessing I should email him?
