Period is late one week. (Is this the right time to test?)

Took test this morning - nothing showed for an hour then suddenly one line.

Went to local organisation for free test this afternoon and it was negative.

Would this be a false negative?

[My last period was May 18th. I got my implanon removed at the end of January and went back to normal about 9 weeks after removal]

    * I plan on going to the doctor next week - not looking for medical advice, purely looking to see if anyone has insight or similar experience.

If the line didn't appear for an hour it could be an evaporation line. Wait a few more days and try a first response as they're very sensitive.
