    I have friends coming over from Australia and they looked into hiring a car at the airport but were told that because they had a debit card not a credit card they could'nt. Is there anyone in Louth where they can hire a car without a credit card ??? Probably not but I thought I'd ask anyway, you never know what you find on Boards !!! :)

    They don't need their own credit card, anyones credit card will do. Is there anyone in your circle that likes them enough. It's usually only as a safety deposit if you wreck the car and just leave

    Thanks for that SSmith, I understand the need for a credit card but I don't know these people well enough to risk using mine so was looking for another option. Looks like they'll be busing it :)

    You can rent a car with sixt in Dublin airport with a debit card but have to pay for premium insurance, it cost me about 400e for a week.

    He might have a car for sale in the yard that they could rent cheaply for a little while.

    Mind you, it won't be a 161. Actually, forget the 6. It won't even be an 11.
