desparately wanted to help out but I missed both of the induction days, held in the RDS I fink, because I had moved house and never changed my address with the special olympics committee.
Looks like I'll have to watch it on tv with every one else.:(

i am so pi**ed off with the whole fu*king volunteering thing. i signed up, all really enthusiastic about the whle thing, really wanted to help. thought it would be a genuine godd thing to do. only prob is, i live in cork. the induction days were on in dublin. im sorry for anyone that lives in dublin, but ffs, its not the only f**king place in the country. it seems that anyone without a car and flexi time from outside the greater dublin area were just forgotten about.
    really pi**ed off.

i think a real big heart felt thank you must go to the excellently organised professional committe for the volunteers. (sarcasim)

and for everyone who is working there, good luck, hope ye have fun. (not sarcasim)

Sorry to hear it Solace but in fairness.. the only place big enough for induction was probably the point... to which i did not go... I was signed up through work!

You could have got the bus or train up and maybe even made a weekend of it.

Ah well... Sorry to hear you will miss out/

When has this Government ever cared about anyone other then themselves this is just a chance for them to get more votes and they expect us to do all the work and they'll take all the credit for it, I would have volunteered but the company I work for give me little or no time of a year to do anything exept when it suits them. Hrm.... I think I'm doing rescue for some of the sailing events....

RIB + petrol... It's the best way to volunteer :D

But I'm one of those muppets who has way to little time to post all the time... Sorry 'bout that :p

I signed up, went to two inductions, they sent me a schedule for football, told them I didnt want that.

Despite phoning and emailing them, I havent heard from them since.

    Good luck to them.
