Just got connected there on thursday and have to say i'm pretty pleased wit netsource. Not into online gaming so ping is not important to me at present, but i have been getting low pings when i did check.

Also have downloaded 4.3 gigs since thursday, so if i had gone or eircom or esat my cap would be topped already.

Getting download speeds of 54k constantly since i got it.

on average downloading 50mb rars @ 15 min each.
    Is this ok?

Just like to thank netsource as i've had no probs... so far.

Dont think there are too many people on my exchange at present tho, dun laoghaire, 100 metres from my house.

Ohhh the shame of it!!!! Well I doubt that there are many people here who have not come across a few "Linux ISOs" in there time.... ;-)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,143 ✭✭✭spongebob

Linux ISO's are not RAR 'ed in 50 Mb chunks. They are in 700Mb chunks and have .iso extension .

    DVDs ?

Glad to hear its a hummin for ya. Buy a new HDD over on Komplett with the money ya saved over dialup :D

I'm going to go out and destroy the ozone layer with my big car now... its not my fault God didnt create enough of it.

Yes bandwidth should be unlimited. Its not though, at least not yet.

Btw, your sig is too big could you size it down in terms of www.boards.ie/sigrules. Thanks.

I think if the guy pays for unlimited use then he should be allowed to make full use of it.
    So leave him alone.
I have the same deal with netsource.
Haven't used it too much, but i will get around to it.
I'll have it downloading all night and all day if thats what i want to do.
I've paid for the ability to do this.
If you want a cap go to eircom or esat and don't hassle netsource users.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 120 ✭✭Attreu

    Niteman - Thanks m8,

Think the lads above have been brainwashed by eircom into thinking that its not normal to use a service to the max.

attreu where are u based.. have u experienced any troubles with dl rates or pings recently?.. as in the other thread above 'did we celebrate 2 soon' there seems to be netsource users with problesm..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 120 ✭✭Attreu

    based in Dun Laoghaire m8,

    Right now downloading at 54k.

Had a few probs this mornin with connecting up. (Service was unavailable from 10.15 til 13.00) but everythings sorted now.

Pings are not the best, but it is RADSL so pings are never gr8,

    sometimes low - 40ms
    sometimes high -250ms

All in all i'm very pleased with the service and would recommended it to anyone except gamers who need consistently low pings.

Seemed to be a DNS problem earlier. It couldn't resolve any hostnames, but I could access sites that I knew the IP of.

This was the first time that the service has been down since I got hooked up (that I've noticed). It's a whole lot better than I was expecting.

Have to agree m8, from what i had heard and read about netsource i was a bit sceptical when i signed up. Glad i took the risk now tho.
