I've always found Zsnes to be the most consistent :)

Win zsnes is the daddy especially the Sai eagle modes and hi res mode 7 that make the games look nicer than on the snes.

Both zsnes and snes9x are worth having. Each has its own plus points. Snes9x supports all the rom extensions (fig, smc, swc, mgd) where zsnes still hasn't added support for mgd. Its not particularly important, but some rom managers will force mgd on quite a few roms. Snes9x tends to have better beta support, especially for games like street fighter alpha 2 and star ocean. Zsnes catches up, but it always takes time.
Just have both, its the best choice.

    i prefer snes9x
zsnes never notices the existance of my gamepads

I've no trouble with my sidewinder on zsnes.

It used to have issues with gamepads, it doesn't anymore.

I use a sidewinder with zsnes too and have never had trouble. In general zsnes has the better support. There are little things like your position in Mario Kart that snes9x doesn't emulate.

But as bugs says, get them both. It's the only way to be sure.

i used to have a sidewinder (awful pad btw) and it didn't work well, if at all with zsnes
now i've got a thrustmaster and it seems like it doesn't exist at all, i tried this around 2 months ago, so it wasn't gone then

had no probs at all with snes9x, i think they're both great if they work for you, back when i managed to use zsnes with the sidewinder it was good

is there any way of changing the ROM names in zsnes. for example. i changed the names in Windows Explorer but some of them still come up with the same name on the load screen. can i fix this?

that doesn't make sense so i will ask, can i get zsnes to show the full file names

That would be the transperency not working right. Checking the transperency box in display/video usually does the trick. For some unknown reason your pc might not be able to support it. Sometimes zsnes will emulate games better and vice-versa.

Also when your picking your resolution in zsnes make sure its got x32 at the end instead x16. I have no ****ing idea what this means etc. but transperecnies dont seem to work when its x16 on chrono trigger for example

i've found znes to the pretty good and haven't had any problems with it

SNES9X 1.40 has been released so its pretty much improving all the time and as far as i know ZSNES has been discontinued

your best bet is to get both zsnes and snes9x and if one game dont work on one then try it on the other

    slowdown syndrome strikes again.

super r-type, fully charge the gun and POW slowdown city. works fine in the older 1.39 version. this is on a 2.5ghz p4, god only knows how bad it would be on a lower spec machine.
