it be a good way for the government to make some money if they allowed personalised licence plates to be used by those who are willing to pay for it would pay for it.with all the cut backs in this yrs budget surely this would generate some much needed funds

Hi jumpingjack,

If you have a look at my post in "All things Retro" (and also in "Motors") on this board, I have a thread called "Old style registrations" in which I also suggest the introduction of "Personalised" or "Cherished" registrations.

One way to do this would be to re-issue old type registrations for use as "Cherished registrations".
