Wondering what fonds ppl use on the internet with Linux? , am using redhat 9.0 atm, and would rather something more clear (to my eye).

The default font seems to be too small, and a bit blurry tbh in comparison to the standard M$ Windows one, just an observation, not a crititism.

I upgraded from RH8 to 9 and found that I sometimes get some ugly dark font characters. Happens only in some cases. Eg. Load up freeciv and look at the stats screens. The rest is fine. Could be a missing font.

I haven't tried messing with any fonts yet, but if you are using GNOME or KDE you might find some font-related tools in the menus... I think I saw something along the lines of "appearance". I'll see if I can find it again.

If you upgrade to Mandrake 9.0 or just install the KDE 3.0 upgrade you'll be much happier with the fonts & overall appearance.

Yeah, after the fun of updating my nvidia drivers (thanks feck for telinit 5 ....you'll know if yer a newbie and blindly follow the linux driver install instructions)...and a heck of a lot of reading ..it seems that its down to truefonts...

Funny thing is i got a rpm to make it all hunky dory ..so ran it and ahh..it said already installed....

Seem's its bad to to use them, quess i'll just have to do some more reading up on how to circumvent this in 9 or just got to an earlier version ....:(
