    Surprised noones mentioned this.

Portsmouth had a 750,000 Stg offer for Matt Holland accepted by Ipswich.

Considering he rejected Villa last year, do you think he'd go and it'd be a good move?

Ipswich are screwed financially, so just want to cut their wage bill......

Ya I agree with Sposs. I suppose it's good for Kerr that he is playing in the premiership as he will almost certainly get first team football.

On the other hand I don't rate Holland that much after recent performances although his goal at the world cup was a gem:)

I scored a cracker of a bicycle kick at u10 why hasn't anyone approached me with a move to the priemership?

I presume you get my point :)

Have to agree with Eamon Dunphy on this one - Holland is a vastly overrated player who has a fortunate knack of scoring the odd important goal.

I suppose you have a point in there somewhere :p

All I was saying is that I don't rate him and IMO the highlight of his career so far was that goal (and that probably applies to you too ;)) In fact with some of his performances I was wondering how the hell he ever got playing football at all. He seems lazy on the ball and makes Kinsella do most of the running. He's not international standard and IMO the 750,000 price tag is just about what he is worth.

Good for Kerr to have another international in the top flight even though they might well go down right away.

    And about Holland for Ireland:

Who else is there?I'm not saying Holland is class of not that he is even international standard (why would he cost 750k if he was) but i mean he does the job 'adequately' most of the time and we hardly have a huge amount of midfield talent.I mean in fairness would you rather have McPhail?.Carsley isn't that great either, does the work but not that good either and Colin Healy isn't getting any type of regular football so I can't say i'd like to see him in the starting 11.

Before he got injured Delap was the most consistent Irish midfielder in England, including Keane, regularly getting into the pundits team of the week.

He was overlooked by McCarthy at this time and our midfield was overrun in both the games we lost.

Unfortunately, he was injured by the time Kerr took charge.

That was down to his wife, they had recently purchased a new house and she didn't want to uproot again so he stayed with ipswich to please the missus. Damn women
