It is possibe to have Win98 and linux on the same machine in separate partitions. That is the setup I'm using at the moment. The only thing is that I believe you need to have Win98 on the first partition.

I would recommend that if you are installing both OSs from scratch, then do Win98 first then RedHat. This is beause Win98 tends to overwrite the boot sector thus forcing the boot into Win98 and removing the option to boot linux (though it is possible to recover from this).

The other thing I've seen recommended is that you create the windows partition using the MSDOS fdisk (rather than the linux fdisk) leaving unallocated space for the RedHat installer to allocate.

If you already have the Win98 up and running, then all that is needed for RedHat is unallocated space in which to install the new OS.

    as was said all ready
    yes you can
win 98 install first or things get messy

ftp.redhat.com or find a local mirror on www.redhat.com

www.linux.ie has a list of people willing to burn distributions for free, or perhaps in exchange for chocolate.

Yep dual-booting here with RH9 and I think it's a good distro all-rounder. Has good looks but keeps faith with backend tinkering too.
