Should I bring a tent incase accomadation is booked up?
    What kind accomadation is best?
Aprox how much would I need 4 3 months?
    Etc. etc.
Am going solo so if any1 going round this time would be great to get some tips and maybe meet up 4 a bit?
    Thanks

My friend did this, and all I can remember her saying about this was that you need to be prepared to get dirty, that showering wasn't mush of an option most of the time, i will get back to her and find out more, (wasn't really listening to her the first time).
    Will get back to you.

What kind of ticket do you have? which countries does it allow you to visit?
You might like to plan your itinerary, or maybe just make it up as you go along.

Accomodation should not be a problem provided you book ahead.

Hostels are cheap and great for meeting fellow travellers.

What kind of budget do you have? eastern/southern europe is generally much cheaper

probably the 2 most important things are :

    1. don't bring too much luggage - cut it down to the absolute minimum. (get a rucksack that's big enough and comfortable to wear)
    2. bring plenty of money, a credit card is probably the best for convenience and safety - have some emergency cash stashed away somwhere too.

    oh, and have fun!! :)

Buy a copy of Lonely Planet for European countries and bring it with you on tour. This will have all the vital phone no.s and information to make your trip enjoyable.

Also take a look at www.virtualtourist.com, there's some good stuff on that site.

First thing you need is the Thomas Cooke Eurpoean rail timetable, this is essential above all other books.

Plan your budget, you can save on accommodation costs by travelling overnight on trains, but his will catch up on you, so treat yourself to a decent B&B every so often. Wouldn't bother with a tent, loads of cheap places to stay in eastern europe/ italy.
Avoid major commercial tourist destinations like French Riveria, you'll end up skint.

Be careful on the trains at night, I heard horror stories of an ethnic minority boarding trains and mugging travellers in the middle of the night. Never had any bad experiences although came close to being pickpocketed twice in Rome.

If planning on travelling on an evening train/night train ensure you check out reservations early in the day, on many trains having a ticket does not mean you can travel, you will need to reserve a seat.

Don't be put off by any bad stories, its the best holiday you'll ever have !!!
