    Evening all, Im just wondering if anyone has any insight or first hand info about getting a 6 month (or close) working VISA for the states? how hard are they to come by and whats the waiting list like etc

    There's Websites listing the different visa types. You need a qualification in a profession (they have a list of the professions they want) and two years experience and then you have to buy the visa for a couple of thousand as well, although it lasts longer than 6 months.
    Otherwise you could go in for the green card lottery for €50 or free I think if you apply directly instead of through an agency. If your name comes up you get a free work permit for life.
