    * THE CONCEPT

    With a hectic year’s clubbing over and Summer upon us, its time to move into a different gear, change, and move forward - just as the seasons do. Introducing 'Melodica', a new concept in clubbing where melodies, vocals, and shape shifting house sounds all intertwine to provide a musical journey for the head, heart, and feet. Dubby, refreshing electronic elements are accompanied by performing artists to create a constantly changing, evolving club night - an evening of evolution.

    Resident James Coakley will be joined on our launch night by a very special guest - Dj / Producer / Remixer James Holden. Over the past three years, Holden has stunned such Djs as Nick Warren, Sasha, and Pete Tong with his constantly progressing musical direction and fresh approach to production.

    Over the past four years, James Holden has established himself as one of the pillars of the dance music community, having an impact of which many an older producer and dj can but dream. He can be relied upon to produce consistently beautiful and futuristic tracks and equally stunning remixes, which are always a mainstay of the major league Dj’s sets, from Sasha, Digweed and Warren to Tong, Oakenfold and Tiesto, with Sasha even asking him to collaborate on a track, Bloodlock, for his recent debut album. His own Dj talents have taken him round the world to places such as Japan, Russia, and the US and secured residencies at Uk superclub Passion and Dutch superclub Kremlin, as he builds a reputation for himself as as distinguished a dj as producer.

    James Holden first came to the fore with his track 'Horizons' which changed many peoples approach and opinion on what 'progressive' meant. His unique blend of stretched synths, deep basslines, and soft percussion have spawned a genre all of its own, defined by some as 'Pixie Trance'. Whatever you'd like to call it, there is no underestimating this man. At just twenty-three years of age, this can only be the beginning…

    "James Holden is absolutely amazing!" - Nick Warren
    "Man of the moment!" - Pete Tong
    "The best new talent to emerge in 1999" - Dave Seaman
    ”James Holden is the man” - Sasha
    You can hear more from James Holden on his mix album 'Fear of A Silver Planet', but his more recent work has included 'Bloodlock' - a collaboration with Sasha on his new album 'Airdrawndagger'.

    Or you could check him out at 'Melodica' - coming soon to provide music for your head, heart, and feet...
