    FUSPEY - fun - sustainable - peaceful - existence

FUSPEY is a new idea, a new group, formed by an irish guy who is studying architecture in oxford and a few freinds from all over the world, we are also involved with setting up indymedia oxford

anyway find out about and get invovled with some of the most exciting things goin on in the world today on the website
    http://www.geocities.com/fuspey/
    get involved with these networks

we are hoping to start using here as the COMMUNICATION SPACE

we are living in a new age of thinking
    a revolution in perception
    a revolution in action

Our worldview has profoundly changed recently. We no longer see ourselves in a mechanistic, deterministic way, we are beginning to see things in a more holistic, systems based way. A revolution in how we see our place and ourselves in the universe is happening, due to recent scientific breakthroughs.

The result of this is that millions of people worldwide are becoming aware of the fact that we live in a closed system; planet earth. And that we are not living in a very healthy way.

The environment is being destroyed and millions of people are in dire poverty, starving and dying. Every year 7,000,000 people die as a direct result of unfair global social, economic and political systems. a growing diverse network is developing rapidly and it is challenging these unfair systems through artistic means.
The network is working toward the FUSPEY ideal; fun, sustainable, peaceful, existence
    towards the FUSPEY ideal

Working toward the ideal of fun, sustainable, peaceful, existence sounds like a tall order but many of us believe that it is the only thing that makes sense in this world. Doing so is a chance to meet
    amazing people who love life.

get involved, view the site, tell friends

    all the best

    dunk

    Hi, welcome to boards.ie.

You seem like socialists to me, but that's irrelevant. Ask for a Community board, such as the ones located here. Such a request can be made on the Admin board by stating the name you would like to have for the forum, a brief description, and whether you would like it to be private or not.

Then get some more of your group to sign up and support it, and it may be granted to you, at the descretion of the Administrators. If you feel you do not need a community board to hold discussions, you may also post on the Politics or the Humanities boards. But pay special attention to the rules at the top of these boards, and be prepared to have your opinions torn asunder. These two boards are part of the main section of boards.ie, and so are there for discussion purposes, and not to talk at people or to simply post links. Other people's rights to their opinion are held as gospel on these boards, so it may not suit the type of communication medium you are seeking. From what I read above, a community forum may be your best option.

    Best of luck......

the basis of the FUSPEY idea is

    we live on earth
    this is strange
    but beautiful

bad things are happening to many people here
many people are doing something about that

    you live
    you die

    its fun

I am confused...I must be missing something in the haiku like phrasing. You probably should clarify what you are talking about.

    hi again

    im dunk,
a dublin bloke, studying architecture in oxford,
im involved with a few groups, and i think these groups are doig some of the most exciting things that i am aware of today

    for example...
last year 500 of us took over a derelict army barracks on the amazing Croatian island of Vis. and did workshops for 2 weeks, i was working with a 60 year old guy from new york and 12 others from europe doing a NETWORK workshop. it was great
this is part of EASA ......

EASA (euroepean architectural students assembly) is the 22 year old community, whose SPIRITED voice is that of the European students of architecture.
about 500 of us meet up at least once a year, always somewhere different, to do workshops with different themes.
This summer we will live and work from a self governing freestate in denmark that has its own broadcasting TV stuff
This summer we are exploring SUSTAINABILITY

a few of us were at ECOTOPIA last year in clare..

"Ecotopia" is the biggest international camp in Europe, involved in environmental and social issues, that has been held for over 13 years moving from country to country each year and is organized by a local grassroots environmental organization that is part of the EYFA network. Ecotopia alternates between Eastern and Western Europe
The offical title for the Ecotopia this year is "YOUNG PEOPLE AND CULTURAL PERSPECTIVES ON HUMAN RIGHTS ". and it will be held in Ukraine in august 2003

also involved with INDYMEDIA oxford, (it will be online soon). that is very interesting, because of iraq war etc. i live 30 miles from the biggest U.S. airbase in europe

the last project i was working on was in bosnia, ECO CITY BANJA LUKA, 60+ of us from around europe setting up a system to try to make things more sustainable

and finally a project we are working on is something that SAN FRANCISCO, BOULDER, MILWAKEE, OAKLAND, cities have signed up to....
The World Bank Boycott is an international campaign that demands an end to socially and environmentally destructive World Bank policies and projects through grassroots financial and political power.
    http://www.wbbeurope.org/
we had people from senegal and india talking to students here in brookes about it.
its starting in ireland now, email me if you want details

so thats it a little clearer
http://www.geocities.com/fuspey/FUSPEYexisting_projects.html is a link page with more info on all that

the world is changing, we believe that a massive paradigm shift is happening, another renaissance or REVOLUTION
I use that word in its real sense to me is from when copernicus published his views about 600 years ago, saying that earth is not the centre of the universe

    a similar change in perception has happened i believe for 2 reasons;
    - looking into the atom and finding out its mostly empty and just energy
    - generating a photo image of our planet from space

why bother with all this stuff?
because it makes life full, strange, exciting, beautiful and you get to work with, laugh with, and sometimes even love many passionate people from all over the world

on a final note, i hope phantom gets back on the airwaves, i spent a few years in bolton street DIT, and got many people listenign to it in our studios

    phantom rockseco rocks
    FUSPEY rocks

http://easa.antville.org/stories/377048/#385385 is the link to what we were using as our last COMMUNICATION SPACE

    http://www.geocities.com/fuspey/
    is the temp FUSPEY website

sorry if this is too long
    thanks for being interested

    dunk

Right, that's it. I refuse to be nice to these people anymore. I post a nice informative piece, with very precise details, and nice words, and I get ignored.

    So no more.

From now on, these people will be subject to the flaming sword of death(TM) as well as the mace of despamming(R) and the scripts of pissoffyall(c)

    hi seamus

i have already emailed tom and requested what you posted to me.
i am still getting my bearings in here so a little bit of patience would help a lot

as for the socialist bit, some are, some are not, does it matter
personnaly i just do stuff, get informed, get invovled,
    i dont/ cant class what i am.
i just work with those who seem to know why they are doing it.
i have been invovleed with reclaim the streets a little bit, and FUSPEY got born after sep 2001, when i got my bike reefed up between my legs by a cop on o`connell st.

as for not as a space to just talk to people and more WITH, i am trying to, hence the last longer post, explaining a little clearer to the person who mentioned haiku???

hope this sorts things a little better

    thanks for assistance

    dunk

    I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DON'T SHUT UP!!!

You know people might be a bit more inclined to listen to you if you weren't posting such gibberish like propaganda.

Present some information for discussion not an advertisment.

    ok DapperGent

i think tryign to live for and work for a more sustainable world is a good thing to do.

    good for planet and people
but also good as a way to meet some of the most interesting, strangest people and have lots of fun, (sometimes its a lot less expensive too, to have a deadly time)

what is your response to this

    or another one

ireland is an amazing place, with perhaps some of the lovliest and funny people on the planet

    but all that is changing,
the place is speeding up, to where??

    and result, more a***holes

    why is this?

    theres 2 anyway

what are your views on the idea of FUSPEY

so i heard a lot about it from her & her friends.
it sounded like a good laugh & i nearly ended up going one evening, johnny bowkers drumming workshop would have been gas.
i think that happened the weekend i was celebrating my birthday, so i ended up going on a 5 day session instead:rolleyes:

ukraine is a long way to travel just to get some hippy poon tbh, plenty of that down home;)

Go back and reread seamus's post. The only thing you'll get from mailing me directly is a mail back saying "run it past the community first".

I'm surprised you arent looking to Indymedia for forum support. Boards may (or may not) suit you... though personally I'd have no problem adding your flavour to the recipe so long as you plat well with others.

Welcome to Boards and dapper, be a little gentler with the new folk... explain why you want him to shut up at least lol!

    DeV.

I'm with dappergent here, post it on politics/humanities/green issues, this is the after hours forum, not the fuspey forum :p

I went and clicked on some of the links until I'd seen you indulging in a conversation with yourself showing just how desperate you are and lost complete interest as soon as I saw RTS amongst others to be some form of associates which I already disagree with, thus I already know I don't want to hear whatever it is you have to say because it probably involves a protest (see party) and hippies, as has been confirmed by tman..

    go away?

seamus, the request in ADMIN has been filled out, do i get others to add to that or email admin?

tusky, afraid its not a pisstake, yes its a bit onorganized but we are trying to pull that together

i wonder why you think it a pisstake
did you question it or just glimpse at it and subconsciously decide

i feel the change in psyche in ireland and the people has made them less open, quick to scoff, afraid to give new things a chance

i feel that there is still huge peer pressure to fit in, which involves BEING COOL, and with that people have lost that special something that was so much loved by people around the world

3 years ago i was in iran, where the people love the irish, the main street of tehran is called bobby sands street. people hug you just because you are irish
i met english people who, due to history, are treated very badly in some places just because they are irish..
i thought that will never happen "the irish"

but im afraid, it is happening,
    we are changing.

i love ireland, the idea of it and a SPIRIT of people
    but it is being lost

and the sad thing is no one is noticing

Get others to sign up and show their support for such a board. It's not vitally important that there's support for a community forum (dead forums get recycled anyway), but it needs to be shown that there's interest in a forum before they'll set it up.

I wouldn't bother ever emailing the admins. They get enough email and crap from boards.ie, and they have a read through pretty much everything on Admin and Feedback, so if you have something to say to them, you can say it there.

    :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,400 ✭✭✭TacT

listen you lazy sod, go read the site's FAQ instead of harassing us for answers, and take this drivel elsewhere already. I can see your going to make a nuisance out of yourself by asking a million questions to which the answers to are there in the FAQ if you bothered to look but you probably won't cus your a lazy sod.

btw, I'm really happy your feeling all these things, but I don't feel them and it doesn't prove anything about FACT, mebbe you could try lay down some of those if you want to get a discussion going.

Or are you just going to tell us what you've been feeling, what a great party that could have been, and that we should all go to the ukraine for some hippy punani and a great party?

Please, go away, it's quite clear your full of crap and quite a lot of it, in fact I'd say there's so much that we as a people can't deal with it, so you should go away now.

Might as well be a cult for all we know and I don't like your cheapass way of advertising by using a bulletin board and really don't know why any of the admins haven't given you a slap on the wrist for it already, mebbe you need to have a chat to them about advertising space cus that's all you have going for you in this "discussion" about FUSPEY............puuhleease

tacT, setting up a FUSPEY forum, is exactly what im trying to do, im just trying to get used to this place
as for being in the AFTER HOURS section, on the home page, there are 5 choices, this is the nearest or most relevant thead, the others were, SPORT, TECHNOLOGY, WORK, FOR SALE

devore, i emailed you before setting up this thread

i like your sharing ideas bit at the end of sign, thats what im trying to do, share ideas, if you know of them ok, if you dont and you like them great, if you dont and you dont like them then perhaps dynamic and educational dialogue can happen, so we can learn more

im saying what im into and what FUSPEY is about, is anyone else

fair enough tact is not into RTS, but do they support a more car free city, its not just hippies and crusties at these, many politicians from the green party participated, its also lots of normal people out for a bit of fun for the day

im doing a post grad in architecture, and im interesetd in art and the city. i look at and go to protests city parties to learn more and participate in unusual, and often amazing, shortterm urban systems-
i was in berlin in 99 at the love parade with 1.5 million people, that started out 10 years previous as a dance preotest FOR tolerance, understanding and respect between nations

i worked with macnas in galway in 2000 and was part of the parade
and paddys day is one of my fave days in year, i was in bolton st. and we have a great spot up on a wall across from the flats beside the wax museum

i think we all have preconceiveed ideas, its good to challenge them and try to learn a little more, thats what im doing here

but i spent 13 months last year as proper architect and worked on a hostel for homless dublin women, the skills i needed to design such a challenging project i did not get in college, i got them from goign to lots of different places and being with people, learnign how people are and want to be, and sometimes whats stopping them, so be open in your judgement
