    i'd rather ntl's 600k cable service for €40 please

Finally got my line upgraded today, and while download speeds/etc haven't been great, Netsource's prices are only a little more expensive than what I was paying for 56k access. This way I get 24/7 access, and worstcase my download speeds have been at least double my max speeds on 56k.

If I had to pick now, I'd pick Netsource again, but if NTL Cable was available in my area it'd be a different story.

If I had to choose again I'd make the same choice.

    Netsource RADSL

eircom's radsl. Simply because I dont give a f*ck anymore. I went with UtvIp cause I taught it was the best offer, only to be dissapointed when it came to online gaming (the main thing I use the internet for). Then DSL came along, all hail DSL... Yet another dissapointment when gaming is just as bad or worse than 56k.

The best gaming I've ever done in ireland was with Indigo's Isdn. on eircom's network. They've just got it sorted, and going on results so far, no-one on eircom's network are having ping problems.

I'd stick with my Netsource ADSL. No cap, solid 53.2k download speeds all the time, stable, reliable and solid 60ms pings. I love it. Since I got it working it's been nothing but everything I could have hoped for and I'm sticking with it for good.

eircom RADSl is the only one of the above available to me and i have no complaints about it since installation. not sure i'd have the energy to beat it out of them all over again though.

Was on eircom i-stream enhanced (1mb uncapped) with woeful pings approx 60-80 to irish servers. Moved to Eircom i-stream solo and my pings are fine, downloads are 52KB/sec constant (but capped).

Eircom i-stream RADSL stats. Interesting to see such a little difference between this and i-stream solo. Had been wondering about that. D/L speed about 50K sustained. Also very capped.

    Eircom RADSL Self install.
Got set up very fast after i recieved my modem from
marx-computers.ie, with no help from eircom. I got the settings off a few people here on boards and have been loving it since, after a bit of early abuse on P2P i got a few things that were on my Download wish-list and now im mainly enjoying fast and relaxed surfing not watching the clock, I played my first online game of counter strike yesterday and im hooked, so i guess thats what ill be doing for the next while!!

I would be capped too, but one said eirocm engineer gave me a few usernames/paswords that they use to test lines *cough* ehhemmm. *splutter*.

    Chief.

Chief---, was a 40ms ping decrease really worth getting a capped service for? I can live with the extra 40ms if it means I don't have to watch every byte that flies through my pc. I seem to download on average between 100-500 a day and as you can probably tell I'd be quite a bit over my limit if I had a capped service. My pings may be slightly higher but all the games I've played have been totally smooth and I haven't seen any problems from having the higher ping.

Well it is also EUR 150 per month cheaper, I bet that was also involved in his decision.

When you have been playing cs as long as i have believe me you will notice the difference between a 70 ping and a 30 ping.

As ive said, I have a few eircom usernames under my belt. Plus my line is being paid for by a certain company so the cap isnt a problem.

    *cough*

    Chief.

Am on NetSource RADSL. Great support but rediculous pricing and very slow speed (100k)

Will change to Esat when they launch their own service in local exchange in south dublin.
