like what happened in the SPL where both teams were level on points do you think it should go down to goal difference or should there be a play off between the two teams? imo i'd go for the play off!

Think I'd keep it the way it is. Even though it is heartbreaking to loose by such a close margin as Celtic did yesterday.

And if Celtic had won the league yesterday with the points level would you be asking this? I flippin' doubt it.

i would yeah i think its a bad way to loose a title

In most other leagues I would agree but not in the SPL as there are really only going to be two teams tied at the top. These are Celtic and Rangers and it would mean an almost guarunteed riot after the match. For security reasons in Scotland I would say No.

yeah but not just in scotland but in all leagues im not sure if any leagues do this already but to loose on something like goaldifference after a blinder of a season

But what if the replay ends in a draw after 120 minutes? Then one team is going to loose on penalties. Which is equally as heartbreaking. Keep it the way it is imo.

They use the playoff option in the Seria A do they not?

I'm of two minds on the topic. In one way the teams that scores so many goals so maybe they deserve it when all else is level.

But then again if they have equal points it seems unfair to lose a title down to goals because you have still won the same amount of games whether you win it 1-0 or 10-0. It's still 3 points so I'm am an undecided camper.

In Italy they don't do goal difference if the teams are level on points at end of season. They do the 'games against each other' thing which I think is the best way of deciding. If the top teams drew both games against each other then they have a play-off. (at least I think they use that system)

Whatever system ye use someone's gonna be pi$$ed off.

you havea whole season to prove youa re better than any other team in the league. if you havent bettered the aother teams after a season, why should you have another game to have a pop at it?

It's not really practical having a playoff, the season is long enough and there is the whole hassle of finding a neutral venue and lots of logistics.

When it goes that close its always going to be dissapointing for one of the teams - the main thing is that the criteria for selecting the champs is written down well in advance, i.e. they're not making it up as they go along. Obviously this is the case, so I don't see a problem with how Rangers won the league.

Also I agree with the whole riots thing, a playoff would be well dodgy.
