Can anybody here tell me where I may get a Motorola 8500X 1980's era Mobile Phone (for nostalgic reasons) ?

Preferably in black, clean, working condition. Ideally complete with carry case and manuals.
    And at a sensible price (i.e. €20-30) !

I saw one of these on ebay last Thursday. I'll just go and find the link for you.

    [edit]

Here y'go - an 80's Motorola analogue and currently going cheap:

Looks fab on the seat of my Porsche daahling.

And here's another, although wildy expensive for what is basically an ornament:

I'd put it in my pocket but my shoulderpads can't take the strain.

    Cheers ozpass.
However, the first one says "post in UK only" and the second is just stupid money.

    Thanks for tryin'

if you go to your local phone dealer you may be able to get one. I used to work in a mobile phone shop many moons ago and i came across one, convinced the guy i would take it off his hands and make sure it was destroyed properly.

Still have it and use it every so often. my god has that phone got power for coverage. Remember being at home one time and had my 086 sim in it, there is usually no coverage anyway near my home on 086 but i got the 02 logo on the screen.

    ****e battery on them though.

    good luck hunting.

    Hi,
    I have a Motorola "international" 3200. GSM
Yes the ultimate in cool. It works too, great for serious RF headaches. Battery isnt brilliant but it wasnt used much either.
Did you find one for yourself btw?

Better still I have a Nokia620i transportable and YES its still connected. Analog too. Im not quite in ireland either. Analog phones are cool. See attachment.
This gets me some serious laughs when I bring it to a customer site for the crack.

"" Looked on ebay> I agree madness paying for a tank! The nokia was given to me , and where I am I need the 12watts of power!

Well , I would certainly take such a mobile for free if I was offered one - but who is going to give away much for free nowadays !

    Still looking for one.
