Well it seems to have happened, I can no longer receive BBC 1 or 2 way down here in Malta. I presume its becaused they've switched over to the other satellite. Is that the end now or is it possible to somehow find them by manually tuning etc?
    Thanks

Have you got a sky digi box.? Is it an English sub.? If so it does not look good. These would have changed over automatically.
However you could try the following.

    BBC FTA Tests
    Satcure has reported the following.

    >> * BBC changes

    May 21, 2003

Today the BBC transmissions were transferred to Astra 2D.

To get the BBC channels do this:

(By the way, if you ARE getting a signal then there's no need to do
this in the first place because the BBC channels are still in the
    EPG!)

    Press Services 6 (other channels).
Delete any channels already there (by pressing yellow button repeatedly).
Now press Backup 44 (Add channels).
Type in the following frequency and select the rest:

    10773
    H
    22.0
    5/6
    Add channels
    Select

    Now repeat for this:

    10803
    H
    22.0
    5/6
    Add channels
    Select

Today you can access all BBC programmes via Services 6 (Otherchannels)

If you get "No signal" that means either you didn't clear out the
existing Other Channels or else you really are getting no signal.

(All BBC programmes are still scrambled, by the way).

It may also be possible to get BBC manually on other types of Sat receivers. Im sorry but I dont know how to to this.

No I'm on an Irish sub. I tried what you suggested but I got the sno signal being received message. I'm well outside the 2D footprint here but I just wondered if they might have left them hidden somewhere on the other satellite. The timing is pretty bad, the Eurovision is a national obsession down here and we were really looking forward to Terry Wogan hosting it tonight.

Yes they were still on the old transponders if you go to www.lyngsat.com the frequency no. are there. There are other threads about this on this forum and digitalspy on the technical sat forum.

I tuned bbc3 and 4 into the sky doggy box and got the 08 message which i assume means i will receive them when they go free to air. have they switched off the old frequencies you might need to put the old bbc frequencies into other channels

that being said does anyone know if they have blocked the old frequencies now that they are moved over to 2d

    i am in limerick

Yes. If you tune in the old freqs manually you will get the no signal being received banner. :(
