Colouing with photoshop CG

    does any one know any good tutorials that show how to colour in drawing like they do in computer graphics (CG) is it just colouring it in and adding highlights ? mines turning out pretty crap , practice ? help .

    maybe you should experiment with paint first.

    Learn some colour theory and find a style you like from a painter/art movement.

    then apply that to PS. Frankly theres no easy way to learn colouring, and you shouldnt really learn on a computer aswell.

    Do the ground work the work your way up.

    Eventually the computer will further advance your ability to colour, by having complete control of each colour, you just cant really learn on it thats all.

    What kind of CGI graphics in particular do you mean. its kind of a big area. Pick up the Computer Arts or DIGIT magazines. They often have lots of tutorials with samples of the apps on the cover CD. Pricy though.

    well i can draw, not that much into painting and i gathered, you really need to know your shading and colouring to do that stuff but i kinda figured people doing it on pc`s wouldnt actually be that good at painting in real life, think i was wrong, well i can do it but its turning out pretty amature. I guess il have to do it the old fashioned way, hate painting though, never really have, ive only used inks.
