    Hi,
I travel to the Noth and South a lot. I want to buy Hauppauge Model 893 WinTV PVR USB Personal Video Recorder with on-board MPG chip (PAL BG/-I) for my laptop, but where I live we use both UHF and VHF Frequencies. Do tv cards you buy in the North have both UHF and VHF support?

Most of them do but you would ned to check.

I have an AVER TV card that recieves all VHF frequencies (including Cable bands) and FM radio that I bought in Maplins Belfast store

Look up the spec on their website and if it covers VHF band 3 (174-230MHz Channels 5-12) then it will get RTE
If you want Cable then youll need wider coverage (50-320Mhz at least)

Most of the Hauppauge Win TV PCI cards do 45 MHz to 890MHz, no gaps with the right SW
