Clare victory has to be put into context. Tipp were missing not only Philip Maher, Eamonn Corcoran but also Paul Ormonde. Both Martin Maher, Paul Curran and Benny Dunne have not played together in defence together at senior level in such an intensity level. There was no continuety to the game which suited Clare. Liam Cahill has been tried before and has not produced since his all star in 1996. Doyle should play Paul Kelly in Lar Corbett position or in midfield. John Lawlor from Sars should play no 7. In an high physical intensive game Corbett, and Cahill go missing. Ger O Grady should have played fully forward with Carroll at 10. Tipp will bounce back from this.
you would get great odds if you put a score on tipp now

Firstly congrats to Clare on a fantastic display

Corbett, Kennedy and Brian O'Meara should all be axed from the squad. I think your being harsh on cahill dont forget he had 3 great games the last few weeks and the clare hb line swarmed him like bees. Maher, Corcoran and Ormonde are serious losses especially Maher who's a collossus in defence. a worse blow then leahy. It did not matter who played full forward as nothing went up there.

I said to myself "Mother of god" when i seen Andrew quinn the smallest hurler on the field catch a ball off 6' 2" lar Corbett.

Tipp havent learned anything from 2 weeks ago and have a month to stop the rot and bond as a unit if they are to salvage anything this year. Clare are a great side and at 11/4 in Paddy powers i would have backed them myself.

1 more thing how did cummins let a goal in at his near post???

In fairness he made two excellent saves in the dying moments of the match. Fair dues to you for applauding the better team on the day Tip, much more preferable to making up bullsh*t excuses like Wheeler did. Wheeler it is not like Clare only won by a point or two, Tipperary got hammered. Clare won the matcvh and deservedly so.

u fool...i never said a word against Cummins..and look at my tile it says tipp hammerred.....so were entitled to our opinions...

Your entire post is a string of attempted excuses for Tipperary's inept performance. it was very big of you to "title" your thread Tipp Hammered, as that is exactly what happened. It was Tipp Gunner who made the comment on Cummins, and I directed that part of my response to him. Of course you are entitled to your opinions but if you are going to attempt to use feeble excuses to justify a poor performance, people are going to point out why they disagree with you. That is the whole point of a discussion forum.

the reason cummins was so easily beaten at his near post is that as a citeog it's probably awkward for him. He also tends to favour the schmeichel approach to goalkeeping and spread himself to make saves predominantly with his body.

Most tipp fans agree though that clare would have won that match if tipp had a full strength team out, clare were tremendous on the day, and i reckon they could have beaten any team that they were put against that day.
